I'm so pumped this is happening. I was really close to dropping $300+ last year on the BP Anton on eBay. I thought the clothes and accessories were pretty decent and there weren't any other options that I knew of. I didn't pull the trigger because of the sculpt. Glad I held off

But they are heavy as hell. Also the Academy will refinish and restore your Oscar should it ever need it. Also if some one wants to sell it, the Academy has first dibs on purchasing it.

I got hold William Inge's Oscar when I was in grad school. It resides at the University of Kansas in a locked vault. Very cool.

My last show I designed there had an Oscar prop in it and so the faculty busted out the real deal for us to take measurements from. I was amazed at the weight of it. The damn thing is almost solid brass on top and marble base. I wish I could find the picture I took of it. Really cool.

Yeah Inge was pretty great. Kansas boy like me.

Yep. I teach technical theatre at a university and design freelance on the side and during the summer. I'm also a technical director.
