I think I still like the version one better. I feel the sculpt is better suited for version one. Looking at pop"s picture above with version 2 against next to the actual picture, the sculpt is off slightly. After all they were two different actresses playing the parts.

Apart from the flashing image of Pazuzu (which was footage of early make up tests) you don't actually see Eileen Dietz's face in the movie though. She is shown briefly after Regan has barfed on Karras because they shot the vomiting scene with her originally, due to Linda Blair finding the chuck up contraption uncomfortable to wear. However, Friedkin was unhappy with the footage, reshot it entirely with Linda Blair and simply superimposed the sick spray in.

I haven't really had a chance to get to grips with mine yet. They're still exactly as they came, with wild, unkempt hair and both beds still boxed up.

Initial preference would be for version 2 though

Ever since the initial reveal, I was in strong favor of the V1. I think it's a stronger and more mature representation of this controversial character. I also loved that Rainman did something completely unique in doing a version from a highly....highly controversial scene! I thought that took some balls too do and it definitely reps that art should never be censored so for that I appreciate and favor the V1 slightly over the V2.

However, V2 of course is the iconic demon look and it's the one I have displayed right now and I'm starting to notice a lot of very fine details that are really impressing me. The mouth is in fact very slightly off centered for that classic Reagan grin. The sculpt looks more and more like her to me each day. He really nailed the skin tone on mine with that bruised kinda veiny hue mixed with the wounds and what I love about the paint is that the V2 wounds are not painted raw like V1 because by the time she was full on demon those wounds were healing and rotten. Rainman got that detail.

Only nitpick are the hair, and the weathering. These are two areas I think are always put in our hands as our opportunity to make our own figures unique to us. So for the hair I need to think about who and how (scene specific) to get someone expert in that area to get it just right. And the necessary weathering is needed on the blankets etc....everything of course looks too new, it's gonna need either some water treatment to get those folds and creases in the blanket, pillow and sheets so that the bed dio looks really lived in cause right now I get a Barbie doll play set vibe from it (that newness). All the ingredients are there though for the definitive Reagan representation. I also wish there was a way to easily remove the calf and foot pieces though. Possibly get a computer print of a more detailed calf area with feet in a seamless position like the tippy toe gesture because the flat foot articulated ankle/foot area gives it a bit of that dolly vibe. More detailed and no seam in that area would bring out the figure "life" much more.

I can Guarantee that Father Karras is gonna bring this entire offering together in a way I haven't seen in custom 1/6. The Karras and Reagan combo is gonna be a very strong....grailed....part of this mans art catalog. I definitely see just how necessary it was to do him because that complete dio is gonna be unmatched.

What's the hair colour like on your version 1 Turbo? Mine seems really kinda blonde and much, much lighter than the version 2 (which looks quite dark in some lights, ginner in others).

Mine is a mix dirty blonde but it does have that red in it. It's perfect because I know as soon as it's water treated it will probably get darker and I don't want the hair too dark because her hair was in fact a dirty blonde not "Wendy's" red.

What's got me sold is the sculpt though....It's solid....it's dead on Reagan. If you play around with the lighting you gotta make sure you hit the shadows on her brow area. I think this is key! It draws out the sculpt in an entirely different way. Those brow creases are subtle but if the right light and shadows hit it!.....I was like whoa, this sculpt is crazy strong! I'm really in awe of it. The figure is a certified Gem in my opinion. In person.....CRAZY Real.

Actually, placing them side by side, there isn't as much difference as I initially thought.

I think you're right in that once treated and matted down the hair colour should darken up some and appear much more accurate. I really need to free up some time to sort the hair out as she definitely needs those bangs, but I'm kind of apprehensive about tackling it though.

This turned out amazing. No idea personally why people would want a figure of this creepy thing on their shelves however but congrats!

Shelves?!?! What the hell are you talking about?? I sleep with these two!

Personally I think both versions are very off and have a heavy dose of The Man's style. The sculpt doesn't look anything like Linda Blair and neither paint-up brings out a getter likeness. But I don't think that's new news because it was very apparent in the protos and what we saw is exactly what we got (aside from the hair).

I am happy with both however and I'll get into all of that in more detail when I share my thoughts tomorrow. Still fighting for time to fully absorb the entire package

Alright, finally have a night to spend with these two.

I was going to put the other night gown on but I wanted to check to see what others did first. I tried taking off the one that came on the fig to swap it, but it wasn't easy and I didn't want to force it. Does the second one go one over the first one, or are you supposed to swap them?

I found these in Michael's in case anyone wants to give them a try. The color, texture and material are pretty damn good on both. On the beige one I'm going to cut the strip in between the blue lines and use that for her wrist wraps. I'm going to cut the sides off of the white one to make a thinner strip to use for the restraints

Having a ton of fun and enjoying the hell outta these but it's frustrating at the same time because they're really uncooperative and hard to futz.

Ended up using the finished edge instead of the center for the wrist wraps. The center would be thinner and a little better to scale but the edges have wires which make it really easy to work with. I think it'll come together when I add the restraints tomorrow.
