Something about Arnold in Commando that saves the movie for me where Conan 2 he doesn't save the movie for me.

Commando suffers from the A-Team syndrome of intact bodies flying everywhere from big explosions lol

Hold on Clown. I can't have that, nobody puts Kurt Russell on the second tier of anything.

I think he is even with The Thing in his resume.

C'mon Executive Decision yo

And that's ok because Arnold and Stallone eventually joined him in that tier.

The reason I put him in second tier is because most of his action/sci-fi films bombed, including The Thing. And his coolest character, Snake, at best reached cult status, not mainstream. His real success came from movies like Overboard and Backdraft. Even Tango and Cash with Stallone bombed.

Tombstone and Stargate were successful tho. Other than that, he just hasn't done any action in the last 25 years?

Russell is like a fan favorite actor, but also like a less successful version of Jeff Bridges, both child actors.

I remember he did a film called Soldier in 1998, which also bombed, and I think that was his last "big" action movie. I don't think it was bad, irrc.

I really like Russell in Death Proof, but hated the film. Film also bombed. Even Tarantino hates it. :lol

In an interview,
"Tarantino revealed that he cast Kurt Russell as the killer stunt driver because "for people of my generation, he's a true hero…but now, there's a whole audience out there that doesn't know what Kurt Russell can do. When I open the newspaper and see an ad that says 'Kurt Russell in Dreamer,' or 'Kurt Russell in Miracle,' I'm not disparaging these movies, but I'm thinking: When is Kurt Russell going to be a badass again?"

That's why he's not in MY top tier of action heroes. Top tier actor, I'm sure.

Kurt Russell has Tombstone under his belt, that’s enough bad assery for a dozen life times.

I felt that in the trailer. They needed to show you him using the bow to know that he is Rambo and not some dude defending his barn. I kind of miss the long hair and bandanna.

Yeah I agree. You wouldn't know that was Rambo unless the poster (which looks like garbage by the way) told you. He's had so many forgettable roles in his recent years that if you changed the font to say something else it would still work. :lol

Anyway, hopefully the movie is good.

Official poster

I prefer the previous one, but I like the red font.

This might be the worst poster from the entire franchise.

What's funny is that Stallone's production offices had lots of his "art" on the walls in the 1990s and he seemed to love these quite cheesy bronze statues (the company was called White Eagle and had a super cheesy white eagle bronze out front) and that explains his choice to now make himself look like a bronze statue.
