Interstellar - 2/10

A three hour, bloated, convoluted, long winded mess. Nolan has got to be one of the most overrated directors in cinema history.

Did you only see it just so you could post that? Surely you could have known you weren't going to like it and saved yourself the time?

Not bashing your rating BTW, just never understood why some people willingly see films they know they won't enjoy, particularly at the cinema.

Like others have mentioned, Interstellar is a love it or hate it movie for most.

Now that you mention it, Chaser, I do find it funny that people go see movies knowing full well they dislike the main actor, director or whathaveyou and then post a bad review. It's like bashing a particular Sushi bar you went to when you don't like raw fish to begin with. :lol

I’ve always been pretty indifferent of McConaughey, I liked him in True Detective, and Dallas Buyers Club, but Interstellar is the first movie in over 20+ years where he really showed me his skills.

Personally I thought the movie was great, but I could see how others didn’t like it.

If people only went to see films they liked than this thread would be full of 8/9/10 scores. There has to be a few rotten tomatoes in there somewhere to spice things up.

I expected it to be good from the trailers. But I didn't end up liking it at all. Not everyone has to be in love with a film you loved you know.

:exactly:

So it's pretty much what I said - they only go to see the film so they can post a low rating.

And I don't expect them to. It's just the way you described Nolan as the "one of the most overrated directors in cinema history", that made it look like you went into the film knowing you were not going to enjoy it.

But for it to go from 'good' from the trailers, to 2/10...damn, you probably should have walked out :lol

Saw it online :wave

I was looking forward to this, but when I saw bad reviews in here for it I expected the worst. I didn't go into it thinking I'd hate it, but I didn't think I'd love it either.

To be honest, this movie is an experience in IMAX, maybe that's why I enjoyed it so much but watching a low quality bootleg could be a major reason why you hated it so much. Maybe if you saw it in the proper format you would have scored it at least 2 points higher haha.

Nah :lol I got all of the story out of it. What really made me pissed off watching it was the chaotic flipping back and forth between characters. That might of worked in TDK, but it bugged me to no end in this. And when it wasn't doing that, it felt like there were so many dry spots in the film where I couldn't hold my attention to it.

Yea I felt that way about Inception actually, for Interstellar I didn't mind it, only thing I truly hated was that surprise cameo that took a cliche turn.

So a cam rip? That has to affect the score somehow, no?

Nope. A bad film can be bad in good or bad quality :lol

I don't know why my opinion on things ruffles people's feathers around here so much. :dunno

Dredd - 7.75/10

Fun movie. I guess ChapStick for Karl Urban couldn't fit into the film budget.

There's certain movies that do around here. I guess Interstellar is one of them.

(And by the way, your Dredd score sucks! Easily a 9/10.) ;) :lol

:lol I would of scored Dredd higher, I just wish it was a wee bit longer. It felt like Die Hard: Dredd Harder :rotfl

The gratuitous gore and violence was great. Definitely not your daddy's Stallone Dredd. I'm definitely picking up the 1/6 Dredd :rock
