Hmmm... I need to watch "Near Dark" ASAP. Remember only a few scenes from it, vaguely.
I didn't like LB, found it to be very bland product of it's time.
FN, on the other hand, I love to this day (didn't care for the remake).

I'm with you man.
I like MM2, but the first one is excellent - regardless of what silly blabberisms some have about it.
:duff

MM2 could be awesomely great if had much more substance and wasn't inconsistent in its approach.

Edge of Tomorrow 9/10 still as funny and badass as in the cinema, such a shame it bombed.
All is not lost for you yet. :monkey3

I agree with you on this one. Paxton's vampire was great, but apart from that? Based on the concept and actors from Aliens who got brought over, it really should have been more than it was. Still one of the top '80s vampire movies for me, though. Better than Lost Boys, not as good as Fright Night.
Yup, FN is where it's at.

Didn't care for Near Dark. Worst vampires ever. TLB and FN trump it hard.
Not the worst though :lol
But same for me.

Don't be fooled, I'm a lost cause.

The Evil Dead (1981).

As a kid I was always terrified of this movie but viewing it now I find it intentionally hilarious and over the top. To my surprise I found out there are basically two types of audiences for this movie- those who view it as a comedy and those who view it as a truly scary flick.

9/10

I was terrified too of it as a kid, but now it doesn't really bother me much at all now.

I've never seen it. Worth a watch? Is the remake any good?

You'll love whichever you choose to watch first, I barely remember the original.

But I loved the remake, because Jane Levy

The only good remakes are The Thing (1982) and The Fly (1986), any horror remakes are pitiful compared to these two. :lecture

I give the The Thing reboot a hard time but it's actually got a solid plot and I really do love the end titles that tie Lars and the dog into the opening of the original. Easily the most genius thing in any horror reboot/w/e you want to call it. But I just can't help be furious when I see the actual movie cgi effects vs what amazing, absolute top of the line practical effects they cgi'd over and flattened out to the point of looking fake. Especially when what's his face splits open on the chopper and then the cgi of the chopper itself going down. Looks really bad there. They also CGI'd over the pilot at the end of the movie with that weird out of place core thing on the ship. They rushed the last Sander creature in instead and you can tell because his face looks really fake on it.

Guardians of the Galaxy - 8/10 Still prefer IM1 by just a little but this is easily the best looking Marvel flick.

Yeah, I just can't get past the CG effects of the Thing prequel. It looks horrible, with no weight to the creatures at all. I'll give it another shot when it's on TV someday.
