Class of 1999: 6/10

I would score it higher, but it started dragging for me at the end. Cheesy b-horror movie, but the first 2/3rds were a lot of fun. Ending was an obvious throwback to the ending of the Terminator, but. . .somewhat less effective. Though I didn't notice it in the movie, a song by "The Nine Inch Nails" was listed in the credits.

Having a movie marathon this weekend -

The Martian 9/10 Much better than expected.
Fury 10/10 - Just a spectacular film
Crimson Peak 6/10 - Decent enough promised more than it delivered.
Mission Impossible:Rogue State 7.5/10 One of the best MI's he's done, much better than expected.
San Andreas 6/10 Ok for a disaster movie but the Rock really can't act.
Spy 7/10 Entertaining flick.
Howl 6.5/10. Low budget offering, predictable but well worth a watch.

BONE TOMAHAWK. Kurt Russel This movie is Amazing n very well done and just feel's like a true story highly recomend give it a pure 10. I Recommend not watching trailer go in blind 4 no spoils its a western style film.

The Peanuts Movie 10/10

You know how Hollywood is always taking old properties and updating them because they're old fashioned and the kids won't be able to relate, ect, ect? The Peanuts movie did none of that! It was perfect and it was wonderful to see something from my childhood make it to the big screen untarnished, Wonderfully impressed!

Glad to hear that. This one might be an instant classic in my house.

^ Good old Carpenter greatness there. :duff

Haven't seen A.I. in years, I should correct that.

Strangely, I only saw They Live for the first time in the past year or so. Dunno why I didn't before. RIP Roddy.

A.I. is pretty good. I haven't seen it in quite some time, but I think it holds up for the most part.

THE EVIL DEAD - 9/10

To this day my only gripe is that the characters could use a little more backstory.
But other than that, still scary and creepy as ****. Great film.

I agree with them not having a backstory, but I don't think it's truly necessary. The horror that goes on at the cabin more than pulls the rest of the film up.

Still haven't watched the original movie. :monkey1
It's completely different. Ash isn't even the main protagonist 'till the third act. I love EDII for splicing two distant genres into one well paced and entertaining film, but TED is the best thing this franchise can offer.

seems a little too creepy for me. lol
Still cheesy tho.
I love cheese tho.

Absolutely. Holds up really good for a 34 years old low budget horror.

It definitely holds up. Practical at it's best.

When I really look at it in a broad view, I guess you can say TED is the best one of the series. But, I do love EDII and AOD dearly. It's hard for me to choose if I wanted the series to stay with horror, or the go with the horror/comedy.

You guys might find this hilarious, but while I absolutely acknowledge movies like The Exorcist & the original Hellraiser as benchmarks, I'll never own copies of them. I've watched them of course, but I refuse to have those things in my house. :lol

I'll also say this, nothing beats the serious stuff from the 70s & 80s.

Nothing. :lecture

Two films that should of never had sequels.
