The Quick and the Dead. 8/10. Shockingly good movie considering it's about a hokey-sounding gunfight contest and the main character is a chick gunfighter (expected a girl-power overtone that wasn't really there, or at least was well underplayed). Stone was good enough. Hackman was badass -- playing essentially the same character he played in Unforgiven. Crowe is always badass. DiCaprio was still in his annoying phase, but he wasn't terrible. Spaghetti western, Justified-style quickdraw contests are always good watching. A surprisingly good western from an era where there aren't enough of 'em.

I actually really liked it, but really wanted a horror/scary movie which this didn't come across as (despite the story).

Dragonball Z: Resurrection of F 5/10 - This is a movie you watch in theaters for the experience and not for the movie. Because the movie was pretty meh. Power levels are inconsistent with the series and cannon fodder characters make much of the movie dull.

No way Piccolo, Krillin or Gohan should have a problem with fighting Freiza's men. One was boosted to having the powerlevel of Dodoria or Zarbon... who had a powerlevel of 22,000 to 30,000. So Piccolo, who took on Android 17 and trained Trunks and Goten, has a hard time fighting a guy with a power level at maybe 30,000? Not to mention Super Saiyan Blue Goku almost killed by a ray gun...a ray gun? What??????

Yes, yes I know "He had his guard down". This is dumb. Guard down or not, a simple ray gun wouldnt hurt him. And just because they had an explanation doesnt mean its right. "The world is round because of pancakes". I explained it, therefore, it must make sense. The ray gun had no mention of how powerful it was and they should have atleast said something like "This ray gun can penetrate anything". i cant wait to hear them explain how Vegeta became a super saiyan blue.

It's an amazing movie. Great script and acting. The cast was outstanding. Even though I already knew the outcome, I still found myself at the edge of my seat pulling for them to make it.

I've probably seen it quite a few times by now but the emotional impact never ceases to amaze even after all these years and knowing that they get back safe. I welled up a few times during this latest viewing. Fantastic acting all around and Horner's music is incredible.
