Agree with Riddick, Cap in AoU was completely nerfed/dumbed down in terms of powers and personality. Joss Whedon simply doesn't know how to portray these characters. In Winter Soldier Cap was a beast, not just with his powers ( which the film did a really good job of conveying that he was indeed superhuman- Jumping out of a plane without a shoot, smashing thru walls, getting hit with a grenade, going straight thru a bus- And then hes all like "Sorry about your bus" Then he takes out a mini gun "Oh hold my coffee while I just run into this mini gun" ) But also his entire attitude. His stern unbreakable determination and righteous convictions. If the whole organization is corrupted, then we're gonna bring down the whole damn thing- for Justice! because 'Merica!

Then I see AoU and its a totally different guy. Its amazing how much a director can impact a story with the same actor, same character but almost polar opposite personality. He turned him into a punchline.

Whedon doesn't know how to utilize characters. Like the scene where Quicksilver gets killed. Im thinking, Cap could've easily taken out that plane! We've seen him do it.

I've got a copy of Avengers 2, but not too excited about watching it - which is kinda sad, because I love these characters.

I've got it too, just waiting for that time when I've watched every other movie ever. It's the one with Ultron in it isn't it, is that Avengers 2? Or have they made Avengers 3 and 4 and 5 yet? I lost count after the first one bored me to tears.

The Martian - 7.5 potatoes out of 10

Good movie but it kind of dragged on a bit. Could have been 20-30 minutes shorter.

Decided to watch some films I've recently rated on my new Blu-Ray player.

Ant-Man: 7.5/10
Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas were great, the scenes where Ant-Man shrinks were awesome.

I thought Corey Stoll was quite weak portraying the villain, also some parts of the film were quite cheesy.

Guardians of the Galaxy: 7.8/10

Good Will Hunting: 9/10

American Werewolf in London: 8/10
The transformation scene from human to werewolf was epic, one of the best moments in film.

Hail, Caesar: 7/10

Very good, but not great. Not in the top tier of Coen Bros. films. Aesthetically, it's a joy to experience. Not a bad performance in the whole film. And it has Connor MacLeod and Kurgan in it. I recognized some parallels to Miller's Crossing, the Big Lebowski, and A Serious Man.

Ghost in the shell yes, Akira I didn't like and yes I know its hailed as one of the greatest. I was thinking about starting Ergo Proxy as I have heard good things. Just finished Perfect Blue and what a mind ****.

Try:

Appleseed (1988)
Armitage III
Amitage III: Poly-Matrix
Armitage III: Dual Matrix
Battle Angel Alita
Bubblegum Crisis
Ghost in the Shell: Stand-Alone Complex (tv series)
Macross Plus
Megazone 23 parts 1, 2 and 3
Metropolis (2001)
Roujin Z
Serial Experiments: Lain
Venus Wars

Same. Wouldn't even touch this one second time if I didn't care.

Love Rogers and he is solid enough in AoU but lacks the commanding presence.
Hulk/Tasha is definitely second worse part of the film (first being Ultron).
Despite the lack of screen time, Vision is the bes part for me - both the character and Paul Bettany are awesome.
*I don't even like his and Cap's designs and still...*
Yeah.. ugh. It's truly a golden era for comic books & film, but it's a double edged sword isn't it.

Quantity over quality isn't the way it's supposed to be. :lol

He turned him into a punchline.
I felt that way about a lot of moments in the first one too with the entire cast.

Too much ham & cheese, & not enough meat & potatoes.

I've got it too, just waiting for that time when I've watched every other movie ever.
I'm reserving that special place for the latest 'Terminator' mooofy.

Deadpool - 9/10. Probably half a point too high, but im going to round up. Reynolds is Deadpool. The editing and general pace of the movie pleasantly surprised me for an origins tale. If the humour landed for you in the trailers, it will land in the movie in a big way. The soundtrack and score worked very well too. My favorite comic book movie. Loved how it shamelessly trolled the genre. Just like the comics :)

Soaked in Bleach - Courtney murdered him/10

I felt bad for her because of all the horrible things fans would say about her. Based on interviews I've read and listened to from various people, I didn't think she was guilty, but now I'm going to have to check this out! Poor Frances.

Ditto on Vision being the best thing about it, and by far for me which is a shame because the trailers made Ultron out to be triple a amazing.
