If interstellar was much colder in its approach, leaving the love stuff entirely implict for the audience to figure out, and had better dialogue, it would be as good as 2001. But 2001 is still better in that regard, and a couple others, and has a bigger scope.

But all and all I'll stick to the A.C. Clarke books. Haven't read the entire book by Thorne though.

Then cue the Matt Damon explosion scene . I actually think the movie would've been more palatable if it weren't so long. I felt like sitting through it alone, was such a chore.

I liked it, really enjoyed the science aspects of it. Don't think I'm a poser intellectual.

You seem really angry over a movie.

I'm not angry over a film I have zero investment in. I watched it and moved on. My anger is at the majority of the viewers come off like they got a PHD from it.
