I'm not angry over a film I have zero investment in. I watched it and moved on. My anger is at the majority of the viewers come off like they got a PHD from it.

Lol, that's the other movie I was trying to remember when I was thinking about where I'd seen this movie before. Interstellar is Signs meets Contact.

I agree with the 9/10 rating. Only because there are movies I've seen that I think are better than Predator, so it can't possibly be rated higher than them.

I almost gave it a 9.5, and as much as I love the entire film I think Dutch vs. Predator alone wasn't as fun as Dutch's Team vs. Predator. I'm not saying I'm displeased with the third act, just I didn't have as much fun with it... maybe it's because Dutch had no one to interact with. But the film couldn't have gone a different route from what it did and work.

Funny. I, on the other hand, think that Kubrick is grossly overrated. Great director no doubt, intelligent and with an extraordinary visual talent...but the poor guy could not recognize a human emotion even if you were to hit his face with it repeatedly

I think that's what makes 2001 so good, I would've loved to see Interstellar having that coldnes, sci-fi tends to be that cold, good sci-fi that is.

Having said that, I can't watch 2001 very often, I'd rather read the book.
