The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) - 10/10

No gore, very little blood, only one chain saw kill.
Yet oozes with atmosphere and madness.
Awesome film.

Spiderman:Homecoming 6.5/10.....story was saved in the last act....

Too much bad CGI....to many kid actors who cant act.....and an over abundance of political correctness...

Haha! Exactly! :duff

The Thing (1982) - 10/10

By far the cream of the crop for me in terms of Sci-fi horror.
Absolutely love this one too. Carpenter nailed it!

Rewatch Halloween ('78) again.
Carpenter has the kids towards the end of the movie watching "The Thing From Another World".
Four years later... he releases this masterpiece. :clap

Account ban and public lashings for not giving it an 11/10! :lecture

Probably my fave horror film of all time, perfect film to watch during winter. I even put it above Alien 79 as sci-fi horror goes (plus, the alien in this is more realistic and terrifying as it could be anyone, really playing on your paranoia and fear). Hard to believe it got negative reviews when it came out.

It brilliantly uses suspense and subtle hints throughout and there's stuff in here that I never noticed until later. Like the pair of tattered underwear found by Nauls early on -- doesn't seem like much at first but it's a big hint as to how the creature assimilates.

Also love the ambiguity of the ending. Do you think Childs was infected in the end?

Yup....top of the line!

:duff both that and The Fly 86' are both more favorite of the genre, even above Alien.

It's a better film than Alien, but that doesn't mean Alien isn't a masterpiece. The attention to detail, the music, the setting. It's a flawless work of art in every way. Kurt is excellent and it's his best role and Carpenter's best film. The supporting cast was superb as well.

Carpenter said on Twitter recently that one indeed was infected, so it's certainly Childs. He takes a drink from Mac's bottle while before he was probably the most antsy guy about getting infected... but then trusts that Mac isn't infected by that point? That's why I believe Mac laughs.

I also read that it was in the script that Mac had a flawethrower on him, so I would assume he torches him immediately there after just like he spilled the booze in the Chess computer in the very beginning.

I love the ambiguity of the film as well since it's never clear aside from Bennings on the order of infection. I think Palmer was patient zero, and he infected Blaire shortly there after his computer simulation.
