I definitely still get enjoyment out of IM2. I like the house party fight scene where RDJ breaks down laughing after asking the DJ to give him a phat beat to beat Rhodey’s *** to. :lol

It’s definitely more enjoyable than IM3, which felt like a wake.

Drive - 9/10

Lean and atmospheric, a perfect blend of style and substance without an ounce of extra fat.

I still haven't seen that come to think of it.

Unfortunately I watched it after hearing for months on end that it was the greatest thing ever and found that the overblown hype had set me up for disappointment.

I'll give it another go one of these days with tempered expectations and see how it plays.

Going into it, I heard it was good, BUT
• I didn't know why specifically
• I also heard it's not what the trailer made it out to be, which was a high-octane action thriller. Since so many folks complained about this, I naturally prepared for the opposite: something wordy, slow-paced, and bloated.

Wrong on both counts and I still loved it. Then again, I've always been partial toward movies like this and enjoyed 2049 for similar reasons. Artful, but neither obnoxiously poppy (like Baby Driver) nor overly-pretentious (like your stereotypical arthouse film).

EDIT: Revisited the trailer and it's pretty terrible. Besides misrepresenting the movie, it spoils so much. Thankfully I watched it years before the actual film and, in that time, forgot everything about it. :lol

Antman and the Wasp - 7/10

Enjoyed it. Had some good quick humor. Did not realize till the end that was MPfieffer as original wasp. Man she has aged.

Annihilation - 8/10

Holy cow WTF did I just watch. I'm still processing this. So let me get this straight....
An alien lands at the light tower, can create or mimic a current lifeform, Kane lights himself on fire, tells his Clone/Copy to find Lena, he does, she goes in the shimmer, allows a copy of herself to be made, tricks that copy into lighting itself on fire with the phosphorus grenade and in turn burns up the alien's nest. THEN....all Garth from Wayne's World, Lena comes out to figure out the copy of Kane isn't Kane and they both hug- THE END? WTF? Complete mind F
