The Lovely Bones - 6/10.

Entertaining in parts but overall I felt it was too long. I think it could have been cut down by about 20 minutes. The acting was pretty good, the story okay, and the ending (w/o spoilers) was just kind of meh. Now the part with Tucci at that end....okay that was awesome!

Other than that, you can pass on this one IMO and miss nothing.

Next up....Imaginarium time!

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

well gang, I'm about to dash out the door in about 30mins or so with IMAX ticket in hand to see Iron Man 2. I hope it proves me wrong & blows my socks off.

Its well known I'm a tough audiance but when the movie pulls thru the praise is lavish. But when it crashes & burns the punishment will be equally.........LAVISH.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I enjoyed DH 4 but McClane vs. helicopter/fighter jet was too over the top.

Plus the villain was meh.

Vs the helicopter was ok, this is the guy who jumped off a roof tied to a fire hose. I can believe he'd jump out of a car going 30-40 mph.

The fighter jet was definately over the top though.

I agree that the jet thing was way over-the-top ... there is simply no way that the government would sanction a fighter jet shooting a truck on an American freeway (much less that the trucker could take the jet down). The fighter did more damage than the terrorist would have.

But I liked the villain quite a bit. Olyhphant is a reasonably good actor, and I thought the villain fit in well with Hans Gruber and Simon. The mocking tone when the daughter shoots that henchman in the foot was hilarious ... "Jesus Christ. You got her? You sure!?" I even liked the Justin Long character, and the daughter was awesome.

I don't even remember the villain from 2.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

My favorite part about Part 4 was when you see Justin Long's collection of spawn and sideshow figures. :D

But seriously, overall, Part 4 was entertaining. I actually liked Part 2 a lot. I think back then I loved Renny Harlin with Cliffhanger being one of my favorite movies at that time. So I swallowed up Die Hard 2 with no qualms (I don't know which one came out first, but loved both of them at the time) Maybe if I see it again I won't like it as much. But hey, McClane takes out the T-1000! What's not to like about that?!

Iron Man 2: 7.5 out of 10
Quite enjoyable, not as good as the first, but still really good. My only real beef was the recasting of Terrance Howard with Don Cheadle. I love Cheadle, but he didnt have the same chemistry that RDJ had with Howard. Their friendship just didnt seem as real as the first movie. All in all, fun movie with some great acting by the stars and fun action scenes.

thinking back, that's a really good point. even though howard might have been a ********* behind the scenes, you're right in that he and RDJ did seem like old buddies on camera. they played off each other well.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Howard had that same sense of humor so to speak that RDJ had and they played off each other brilliantly. Cheadle just didnt have it with RDJ and their scenes suffered because of that.

IM:2 - 8/10

Cheadle was not as good but still a really good movie. I think half the guys in the audience blew their load every time Scarlett was on the screen.

The after credits scene was 10/10

Iron Man 2: 4/5

Really enjoyed it, and I'm not a particularly big Iron Man fan.

Cheadle, while I'm told he's a fantastic actor, was horrible. Not so much the actor I guess, but Rhodes as a character must take a backseat, or just go away entirely.

And what a s#$%ty friend...

Sam Jackson's growing on me as Fury. I was always holding out hope for a Garth Ennis style Fury movie, so I opposed it for awhile, but I think he's fitting the role well.

Needed more Mickey, for sure.

And yes...
Thor's hammer was tits.

Iron Man 2 ... 7/10

I'm not sure what to think about the film. Its individual parts were good, but when I think about it as a whole it is a messy film. Something was wrong or off about it, I just can't put my finger on it yet. Maybe I have to see it again...

Good effects though.

Crazy Heart ... 9/10

Jeff Bridges at his finest. Saw this yesterday and I really liked it even though I don't particularly like country music.
