Shutter Island - 9/10

Had the ending figured out about halfway through, but still an excellent film.

Unfortunately because of the idiot critics calling it Scorsese's Shining, I figured it out about a week before it opened.

Still an excellent flick though.

Awakenings - 10/10

just unbelievable. it's one of the few movies that has ever brought me very close to tears. incredibly moving movie, and very moving roles, played by robin williams and robert deniro. imo, this was deniro's best played role ever. :lecture

A truly excellent film!

my only disappointment, is that i only caught half of it on tv, so i'm DVRing the whole movie, so i can go back and watch it start to finish, not middle to end.
but still, even from what i saw, i was mesmerized. :thud:

Cube - 8/10

After watching Splice, I had to track down more movies by Vincenzo Natali, and found Cube (1997). Looks like a low budget Sci-Fi channel movie nowadays, but that's only because of its age. It's a very unique and intelligent sci-fi film that cares more for its characters than the visuals or premise.

Toy Story 2 (Blu-ray) 10/10

Another stunning disc and i just love Toy Story :rock

Summer Heights High 10/10

Fantastic show! :rock

Shutter Island 9/10

Liked it even more the second time. Knowing what the ending is totally changes the framework of the film upon second viewing and it doesnt lose anything. Still my favorite film this year. So far the only film I see contending with this would be Inception but we will see if Nolan actually makes a sub par film. Doubt it but it will have to be great to beat Shutter Island IMO

Cast Away - 8/10

It's been a few years since I've seen it. Still a great movie because of Hank's performance. I'd rate it higher if it wasn't so long. They really could have cut some of the beginning and ending scenes.

it's a good movie, but Hanks was ok...Wilson was GREAT! :clap
