Lost: Seasons 1-3: 9/10
Finally started watching this and I'm totally hooked. I'm often annoyed by not knowing what the hell is going on (hence not 10/10) but the series is really awesome.

And hopefully by the time I finish season 5, 6 will be available for rental

Season 3 finale is one of the best cliffhanger endings ever.

The Last Life in the Universe

10/10

This one's a bit obscure. Best trilingual romance/drama/gangster thriller/existential meditation film I've ever seen.

And it has a twilight zone ending. Awesome.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

OK I been on a movie marathon. Here we go

Red Cliff International Version - clocking in 5 and a half hours, this one's a bit too long for my taste, but outstanding nonetheless. Before John Woo came to the US, he and plently of other directors and actors, made some incredible flicks. In fact, he created his own film genre known as heroic bloodshed. Then he came to Hollywood with watered down results (OK Face Off was pretty cool). Well, this was filmed in China and reminds me of the John Woo everyone went nuts about. It's not perfect, but just when you think you've seen all there is to see in large scale battles, a film like this comes along. Great movie. B

Ip Man 2 - The 1st one was fantastic and this one continues in the same fashion. Donnie Yen has been kicking butt for years, but has been a very cardboard actor. The new screen presence he has established recently continues to do him well. As a bonus, we get to see Sammo Hung kicking butt as well. Too bad Donnie has refused to do a 3rd film that would feature IP Man's most famous student, Bruce Lee. B

Wolfman - enjoyed it at the movies and enjoyed revisiting it on dvd. B

The Rocketeer - a much loved Disney film. I would love to see this character revisited. C

Alice In Wonderland - I thought it was OK. I think Mr. Burton's great character designs and sets would have been better served without the heavy emphasis on CGI or with much better CGI. I loved Sleepy Hollow, hated POTA, and so this one is somewhere in between. C

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I watched Red Cliff in the original two installments on imported DVD. The sound is so much better to me.

I think by doing it like this... it was much more enjoyable... and found it still epic.

Good movie overall.

Waiting for IP man now... did not now about IP 2... Unless the collectors edition I ordered has both ???

I haven't seen the US release of Red Cliff, but I've been told not to bother so went with the International version. I think the US debut for IP Man 2 is at the NY Asian Film Festival later this month, but will it will not get a wide release until early 2011.

Yeah, no doubt... nice thing is with Netflix instant I can just watch the next one :lol

You certainly loose some of the tension that way, but I do enjoy the instant gratification aspect :lol

Adventureland 6.5/10. Ok movie, Kristen Stewart was pretty cute in it but wasn't much of a comedy. As a matter of fact, the only time I remember laughing was when Bill Hader chases the guy with a baseball bat.

Existenz 9.5/10

My favorite David Cronenberg film. Far more interesting than The Matrix (which this film is compared to a lot).

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I'll never get the kill out of my mind that happened in this film.

:lecture

Very grizzly.

It sure is! Especially when you read how Danny is describing it in his paper, in the shot of the computerscreen after the scene.

Makes my teeth hurt just thinking about it :panic:

Definitely! The subtle sound you hear of the teeth scraping the stone when he moves his head into position is just terrible. Gives me the chills just thinking about it.

I agree. I was expecting more.
