Kick Ass 8/10 Totally kicked ass. Little slow at the beginning but OMG did it make up for it at the end. Totally exceeded my expectations.

I feel sorry for the animator(s) who had to animate Jerry O'Connell's consumed and rejected *rhymes with genis*. That scene was too much... *barfs* Piranha 3D is by far the most gruesome and soft-core porn movie I have ever seen. This was my buddy's choice this weekend, and in our group of friends we each have a pick and it was his turn, and we HAVE to go. It's only fair since we decided it makes it easier rather than fighting for what we should see the following weekend. I can proudly say this wasn't my choice. This has some great tremendous eye candy, and skin galore. And definitely not a movie to take the kids to see or people with weak stomachs.

A more appropriate breakdown of Piranha 3D: It's the one movie that not only pushes the boundaries, but then pushes the empty space beyond those boundaries. I will say this for it, even though I am giving this movie a low score, it will be one movie that will stay with you for a long time. *shudders*

Very solid little movie.

Friday the 13th 5: A New Beginning-3/10

Saw this for the first time tonight. Jesus, did it suck. No suspense, and the killings were as unimaginative as I've seen in a horror movie.

The machete vs. chainsaw duel was a good idea, but it wasn't well executed.

This movie's everything wrong with what Hollywood's been giving us as an "action movie" of late. No effort in the story, characters are cheap archetypes that are poorly laid out, action scenes are boring and trivial, and don't forget the CG flames, I miss my real flames. I smirked once when he talked about his niece's soccer team, that's what this movie got from me, The A-Team made me jump out of my seat to gape at my friends when we figured out they were actually

This movie was the A-Team Lite, made for an 8 year old who just wants to see fast cars and big guns. We looked up who wrote it after and it's apparently the same guy who wrote the story for The Rundown, which pretty much explains it.

This means the film was absolutely phenominal and ground breaking.

The Expendables - 4.5/10

Found it an awful, sloppy, boring mess. The action was routine, the editing was choppy and cut too close to make any sense of, the performances were stale as McDonald's, even the jokes sucked. Don't even get me started on all the CG kills or the complete jerk off of an ending.

Mickey Rourke was the only character I connected with whatsoever, and he's in the film a whole 10 minutes.

This was the most disappointed I've been over a film all year. Hell, I liked Jonah Hex more than this. I was thinking about leaving the theater halfway through, honestly, that never happens. I was that bored.
