Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

It's OK....no where near Casino Royale's level.

Also the action blows. Thanks to the ****** who did the action in the Shakey Cam....sorry, Bourne...series.

Inception :thud: honestly maybe it was because i was tired, but found it very long and less than entertaining. barely could stay awake through it. 5/10

Take some of these next time.

I kinda liked Quantum better than Casino Royale. :monkey3

As good as Casino Royale was, to me it felt like too much of a set-up or prequel to all Bonds, without really being a Bond movie. I loved that Quantum took what Casino did and brought it closer to a true "good" Bond movie. It had a great pace and tone. I didn't mind the shakey cam business. I'm used to it by now.

Triangle 8/10. I really enjoyed some of the visuals in this flick, and every time I thought we'd reached the point...there was another twist. And I'm not talking M. Knight "It's a TWEEEST!" silliness, but reasonably intelligent surprises. I have to rewatch it though to see if the entire thing really holds up to a little scrutiny, but it says something that it's worth watching again.

Oh, and it ROCKS the bass.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - 7/10.

I've read the book, and I'm about half way through the second. I have been really enjoying the books, but they really could have used an editor.

The movie is a very good adaptation - they've changed some things to make it fit in a reasonable time frame, but kept most of the main threads intact. Rapace is fantastic as Salander, and Rooney Mara is really going to have to step it up to match her. However, Daniel Craig will have no trouble being a better Blomquist.

And while I liked the film, it felt...hollow. Other than Lisbeth, I felt no connection to any of the film characters. Henrik, Harriet, Erika, Cecilia, all of whom were far more interesting and fleshed out in the book. Even Blomquist and Martin seemed flat.

I'm very much looking forward to the American adaptation, particularly with Craig as Blomquist and Plummer as Henrik.

And on a side note - what is it with swedish films and a lack of sex? Seriously. Let the Right One In stripped out all the obvious information in the book, leaving it to 1950's innuendo. And this movie? Blomquist and Berger's relationship is dropped to a few longing glances, there's nothing about her marriage, he turns down Cecilia, and they dropped many of the more lurid details of the events with Harriet, again falling back on innuendo. Showing the violent sex didn't seem to be a problem, but the consensual stuff? Pretty much stripped to traditional relationships. I just thought it was odd, since there's so much of it in the books, and it's very much a cornerstone of who some of these people are, especially Blomquist.
