Insidious - 8/10

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised at how well done this was. Definetly well thought out and a different take on the whole haunting situation. It reminded me of Poltergeist with a little bit of Paranormal Activity. I thought from beginning to end it was overall pretty damn good. There was one part that I thought was a little weak, but I wont mention it at all, even with that weak moment it wasnt a deal breaker. The soundtrack was great as well, just ambient noises with a short song (piano)...but just a song not some top 40's garbage that most "horror" films throw in there to just totally ruin the atmosphere of the film. I havent bought a movie in a while, but I'll probably pick this up somewhere down the road to throw in my horror collection.

Sucker Punch: 4/10

Finally saw 'Sucker Punch', it was visually spectacular. It was hard to get into at times with the over the top "Trying to be so sexy for us geeks type slowmo shots" on all the chicks. It seemed like Zack felt like dudes have never seen hot chicks before and he was going to make sure we knew what one looked like.

Let Me In

4 out of 10

Gotta go with the original which was a full two points better IMO at 6 out of 10. There was no need for a remake.

HP and the Deathly Hallows Part 1: 8/10

Very nicely done. I'm impressed that they are really cranking up the dark mood of the last few books. And I must say that David Yates has proven himself to be an excellent director.

The first 2 movies were okay. Very kiddie, but fairly accurate to the books. The third one started to stray from the books and omitted important info that could have just taken a sentence or two to include. But Alfonso Cuaron did a magnificent job with the directing, and established a new look for the rest of the movies. I was very very meh with Goblet, although I thought they handled Cedric's incident great. The same with Phoenix--I was very annoyed at the changes/omissions from the book, and didn't like some of the directing choices.

But I thought Half Blood Prince was pretty great (except for how they handled Dumbledore's incident. Terrible.). And this one was just as good. I guess I got used to the changes, or I've forgotten enough of the books that I can watch the movies without much care for the details. Can't wait for the next one, although it seems from the trailers that they are expanding the final battle between Harry and V, which seems a little silly.

Road to Morocco 9 of 10.

Hope and Crosby at their best.

My favorite of the "Road" pictures.

Down Periscope - 7/10 Hadn't seen this in about 15 years. It came on HBO and I thought it was rather enjoyable.

Your Highness - 6.5-7/10

- A tad disappointing. Expected it to be funnier but far too many unfunny moments inbetween.
