Let Me In: 7.5/10

Same rating although I can't decide which one I like better. I was very impressed by this (American) version, that they had the guts to stick to the somber mood of what I guess is the book, instead of "Americanizing" it and making it over the top and "exciting" in the traditional, expected way. It had a great creepy slow pace to it which I really appreciated. And they kept key character moments like seeing the older brother of the bully be a bully to his younger brother (which made you understand why he was such a ____). It didn't add sympathy to the bully, but it made you understand him better. It made me personally dislike him more because he's such an idiot and a coward to transfer his anger on to someone weaker.

One thing I did like a little better about the American version:
I like how the boys were more brutal to Owen in the end, which made it more satisfying when they got their comeuppance.

I'd say both versions are pretty even.

I just watched the foreign version of Let the Right One In. I thought it was a good movie but it was hardly scary at all. i have the new American version waiting to stream on Netflix but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

The foreign one i would say was 7.5/10 as well.

While I liked the original Swedish version, I think the US remake was done so well I think I like it better...even if it is almost shot for shot the same.

Foreign version has a slight edge for me, even if it wasn't as scary as the American version.

I like the casting of the girl better in the American version, but I felt the boy in the Swedish version had his character's "look" better than (if that make's any sense).

Quickly off the top of my head, other comparisons (in spoilers for those who have not yet seen the film(s):

I felt the scenes done better in the foreign version were:

1) The scene where vampire girl (Can't remember her name from Let The Right One In, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Abby) scaled the hospital walls to get to Hakan / her "father". To me, it look so much more creepier than in Let Me In.

2) The woman's slow transformation to vampirism, especially the scene in Let The Right One In where all the cats are hissing at her. And again, the spontaneous combustion scene looked better to me in Let The Right One In.

3) The final pool scene. When I heard that a U.S. version was being made, I was wondering how the film would handle the graphic depiction of the deaths of minors. If I remember correctly, we saw a severed head and hand in Let the Right One In. We saw a head in Let Me In but it wasn't a fully severed head as in the Swedish version.

Rec 2 8/10 alot of people hated it compared to the first, but I really enjoyed it. Though I do consider the first one the best horror film ever made and I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with that haha

That's What I Am - 7/10
- Wasn't as bad as thought it was gonna be.

X-Men First Class - 8.5/10
- Now that's a good superhero movie! Arguably the best X-Men movie of the series.

Martyrs 7/10

Brutal, torturous horror film. I don't usually squirm during horror flicks, but during this one I did. I've never wanted a movie to end quickly as much as I did this one. I never want to watch it again.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Space Battleship Yamato 6/10. Not bad. Strayed from the original anime's story by doing some things that, well, you'll just have to watch for yourself. Similarities to nu-BSG abound in this too. Great CG and FX work but once again a little to nu-BSG.

Dude, there is no rhyme or reason why people hate REC 2. I don't get it, at all. I've heard it and I've encountered it and I don't get it. It is absolutely one of the best sequels ever in my humble opinion and does so much to expand on the mythology of that story that its almost criminal. You walk into REC 2 expecting more of the same. What you get in the end completely twists your ____ing head around Linda Blair style and leaves you wanting more, much more. My two most anticipated sequels next to TDKR, REC Genesis and REC Apocalypse with Genesis the prequel exploring how all of this horror got started. And then Apocalypse, which will explore what happens after "she" gets out...

you think that's bad? Watch Inside. That movie is horrific and balls to the wall brutal.

I thought martyrs was worse than inside to be honest. Both disgusting.
Martyrs I only watched once. Inside I've watched several times. Those French are quite messed up when it comes to horror films. Good for them.

Little Miss Sunshine: 10/10
I really love this film! Great story, great actors and acting and a whole lot of fun moments! :clap

IP Man 2 - 7/10

Not as good as the first film, but I like the fact they do the whole East vs West in the sense of Wing Chun vs Western Boxing. Thought that was pretty cool, still thought the first film had a better story with the annexation of China during Japans invasion. Some good fight scenes, and not alot of wire work. Thats one thing I hate about asian style martial arts films. I love them but at the same time when everyone starts flying they lose me. These were more realistic fights (somewhat).

The Tourist 4/10

The only reason I give this a 4 out of 10 rating is because I gave 2 points just for Depp being the star / costar. Besides that, the story line blew really bad. I think it had potential to be much better if there was slightly more back story or it went a slightly different direction. I won't give any details on the film, since its supposed to have a twist ending. I think a 5 year old can figure out the entire film in the first 30 minutes though.

Do not suggest the film at all, not even worth a rental IMO
