Re: Gandalf the Grey 12" in hand pics !!!

Gandalf arrived and he looks fantastic. The outfit, the sculpt and the included items just ooze quality.

I really prefer this type of paint apps. The outfit will benefit from one of them "water treatments". This may be the first time that I actually try it on a figure.

My figure's joints are really loose. the ankles joints are pathetically lose and won't hold the figures weight. The shoulder joints are soft as well. Arms won't stay up by themselves. This sucks, period. May well be my first figure to be returned for a replacement.

Those of you still defending the Buck need to sing a new tune. This body has consistently been problematic.

Re: Gandalf the Grey 12" in hand pics !!!

Got mine today as well... and I have to say I am blown away! The figure just looks awesome... if it wasn't for the Buck this would be a perfect figure!

The head looks so much better in person it is really hard to wrap my brain around... this is easily their best overall effort on a figure. If only the body were better (hard to pose and spinny ankles) it would be perfect. I'm not going to be able to get up pics tonight, but I'll make amends tomorrow :rock

Agreed. Perfect figure if not for the Buck. Though unlike FlyAndFlight, my joints were super stiff. Both elbows had to be broken loose.

Re: Gandalf the Grey 12" in hand pics !!!

Yeah, the body overall is pretty tight... but his ankles are kind of weak. Although still seems to stand just fine, mostly as the boots keep the feet in place.

I brought my camera. so i'll post pics around lunch time or so.

Re: Gandalf the Grey 12" in hand pics !!!

So consensus, is everyone's Gandalf eyes slightly to the left instead of dead center? Or am I sending him back?

Re: Gandalf the Grey 12" in hand pics !!!

My Gandy seems to be looking slightly off to his left.... His right eye is slightly more off to the left than his left eye. It doesn't make him look cross-eyed though.

Re: Gandalf the Grey 12" in hand pics !!!

Sounds like same as mine and more I look at him, less off center he seems to be looking, weird. Part of it's that damn doll dot, it's really starting to piss me off, there's just some eye paint jobs where it's size and placement hurt the overall look. Gandalf's right eye doll dot is right on the edge of the eye and big enough it almost reduces the overall size of the eye in appearance and adds to the white of the eye. The dot must go.
