I'm gonna buy the packet anyways!!..I had already sourced the nail gun even before we got the figure...now I'm lobbying for a more realistic looking briefcase from Robbie well because it looks way better then what we got...unless Denny revisits that....but like I said...I will buy anything that Iminine puts out with relation to this project....

Here's my set up. Screaming sculpt is still WIP, waiting on his suit to arrive. Also gave him some DX11 Joker hands to hold the axe. No the DX07 boots aren't permanent, just to support him!

Ok guys, I have a question and I guess it all depends on what the dx owners say. Us regular set folk that now want the dx set, would it be ok for us to pay the difference and "upgrade" to dx status? If I'm not mistaken there was no clear number on dx sets and they were made to order right? This way Ray, myself and others can upgrade. If the sets were made to order anyway then it doesn't harm anyone. We later upgraders end up paying more because of shipping.
Think about it, you won't hear me moaning anymore about how I want the dx set! Lol

Making the coat would be trickier but the head should be no problem.
If they were made to order to begin with then they can be made again right?

Unless there's no more molds left or the original casting is destroyed I'd anticipate it shouldn't be a problem either, same with the coats,

But if he will do it for only like 4 guys is another question.

There was a supposed limit as far as I remember when Denny and I talked out about edition size, of 60 only 34/35 were DX sets. or maybe less. Dont remember the exact numbers though...

My question is where will it stop then? How would fans take it if suddenly Blondie was also made to available for a DX upgrade, it can be argued that its only a sculpt. How would say Rainman fans feel say if after the figures are sold out the full set customers are willing to pay the balance to get the DX upgrade?

Truly how many of those buyers would find it fair? I mean then what would be the point of calling these figures limited edition customs... they would just be made to order figures. You produce as much as you get orders etc etc I wouldnt have had a problem if DX editions were increased in the initial preorder process. But now with everything done and dusted this upgrade system on a limited run just feels wrong to me. Sorry but thats how I feel. Buyers remorse shouldnt dictate these things...

I remember how many members here were not happy when Denny said he may offer another run of Gordon or even an upgraded run of its suits and even The Demon suits, and the response was pretty negative for one. So I think there should be some amount of consistency in these things.

I didnt have an issue and vehemently agreed to increasing the original run of Demon while things were still being scukpted on it because the demand rose. However when a run is over and everything is done, going back and then suddenly redoing these now... I cant agree with that.

I bought stuff. I'd buy the pack also but the things I listed with the exception of the nail gun are really a lot more hard to come by than hands and the brick phone, even of its not as accurate to the one on eBay, if the pack included things that just can't be found like the Oliver people's glasses and the Walkman in addition to the nail gun it would make it worth my while to want a slightly more accurate watch or phone.

That would get me to buy it as I obviously have the phone and nail gun already

A very valid argument when you put it like that it's probably best just to leave it the way it is. It's probably not particuarly fair tbh and I doubt Denny would go for it but I'm not particularly bothered either way no harm in asking

With this release I was under the impression that there wasn't and that the dx figures were made to order within the 70 of the run.
Only because of this fact, I saw no harm in suggesting this upgrade idea.
Also, and please correct me if I'm mistaken, Denny didn't ever show us the final versions of the suit and the overcoat. The original pictures that we saw, the overcoat looked a bit too bulky to me. This has been addressed and seeing people's pictures of the newer overcoat show a much nicer fitting. If I had known the difference would be so big I would have definitely picked up the dx set.
I get what you are saying 100% but I think the circumstances in this instance are different.
In any case, it was an idea.

I only started collecting 1/6 figures about two months ago and only knew about this figure one month ago. By then the dx option was not available. If the people who ordered the dx version do not have a problem with the sculpt or raincoat being reproduced then I don't see the problem. Im all for these being reproduced.
I hope they do get reproduced because even though I have yet to receive my regular set figure, Bateman wouldn't seem complete without the overcoat.

I know it was an Idea, exactly why I gave my view, and its just my opposing view to the selective benevolence that the community shows from time to time. I know some DX owners may not be happy but a lot of people dont want to come across as unpopular or elitist so they wont air their views at all. Im being completely honest and will say I do not support this idea of a DX upgrade AFTER a whole run is complete and done.

This set too has/had a limited run of both DX and Normal and headsculpts, HENCE the SOLD OUT status on the DX and painted head sculpts and IN STOCK status of the Normal. If it was made to order without any restriction of edition size then even the head sculpts would be available to order too along with every other edition or everything would have been closed after a limited preorder time with production based only on orders
So its NOT different from a Rainman release format. Never was.

Denny didnt ever show us the final version of the manufactured tie, nor the complete suit (which was always mentioned that it would be improved with better fabric and tailoring), nor the shoes on the figure. Yet the original pictures were enough for everyone to make their choices. We didnt know what the final product would be like. We took the leap of faith. Others didnt
Like I said, now buyers remorse dictating edition increases is not something Im encouraging. If people wanted an increased DX edition sizes during the making of the release, then it was fine by me. Denny has increased DX edition sized before during the making of figures like he did in The Cowboy

So I dont think the circumstances are any different.

I know you are a straight up guy, dont take this personally because you know how much I love Bateman and want him to be as spread out on collectors shelves as much. But not in this way. Not at the cost of the integrity of how it was originally made and marketed.

I am antagonistic to this idea because a situation like this tends to put a big question mark on exactly where do we stop. I know not one Rainman buyer will even think of emailing him about upgrading Full Sets to DX because a majority want to... So why cant we respect that in this case. The customiser's accomodation to his fans shouldnt make his fans hold him ransom in a way. If you get what I mean.
