At the risk of being the spoilsport again you guys do know my stand about not offering DX exclusive items for sale separately after a whole run is complete. Specially Im surprised to see turbo who has been in the game for so long go one notch up and even want the release of the dx sculpt too separately! Disappointing.

And yes it will again be unfair IMO for DX exclusive items to be sold/reissued separately as it totally renders the whole DX exclusive release a misnomer... And moot

I asked for a re-up on the scowl headsculpt that was sold loose and the overcoat I could never understand as a DX item when its as neccessary as the Raincoat.

Axe, were there more DXs available than fullsets or vice versa?

Apologies I misread that.
The overcoat became a DX item because the outfits were becoming cumbersome (the preinted tie, shirt, cufflinks, 6 by 1 suit, trousers and specially the raincoat had a lot of work behind it). This is pretty much the most amount of clothing made for one character for Iminime in any of their releases. (Not counting Lecter as they were essentially similar clothes in different colours and they were all optional whereas this set has by default all the clothes included)

There were more Normal Sets available than DXs ofcourse... but the ratio between them were quite close... almost close to half and half. The first to sell fast were the Normal Sets, but after like a week or so the DXs sold out, Im sure thanks to some retailers like OSB and ToyHQ. There was no limit on how many DXs or full sets one person could buy...

IMO anyone can ask for anything. No matter how long they have been buying iminime's rianman's or whoever product. This is not like the Gordon outfit offering where it was promised to be improved thus screwing over customers who got the original release. this is a re-release of items as they were.

IMO The overcoat should be offered if the rain coat will be offered.

If someone wants to debate about the screaming head sculpt then that's their prerogative, however I'm in full support of a DX upgrade option. And yes I'm in full support of a DX upgrade option for Cowboy and I am getting a DX Cowboy. People got royally screwed over the DX Cowboy because of iminimes screwy web server. Offering a DX Upgrade is the least they can do.

I'm not saying items should be forever made to order but as a community we need to get over ourselves. There are a few mass production links in iminime's model despite some elements being hand done. These are not Rainman figures. Mass production and profit for them as a business see's improved offerings and more offerings like Bateman and less disappointing ones like Agent Smith or Hannibal.

There's a demand now for more DX's from a few collectors, including myself, so my question is how would it hurt the edition size of 60 if a few of those existing normal sets were upgraded to a DX to satisfy the demand? There were some unorthodox approaches with the sale of this especially no limits on orders and selling to outside retailers. Would the DX owners be that offended if a few more were offered as long as it respects the edition size?

Exactly, and the consensus from those that has chimed in is that most do not mind in principal.

Same as I would go on a personal crusade to try and get more people in the DX Cowboy category especially since people got totally screwed. In fact the only reason I got one is because I anticipated the rush and got it from Toy HQ because I'd be busy at the time the PO went up. I never in a million years thought that if i was there on time to get one and had it in my cart and all that a screwy system glitch would prevent me from getting one.

The point you brought up about unlimited orders and offerings to retailers is exactly my point, this was limited yes but essentially they have the same business model as Brother's production. It's limited, small release but controlled small to make a controlled profit and keep things low key under the radar. The tailor is not stitching every pant. The heads are hand painted yes, but there are mass production routes here.

Hell I'll give iminime the extra 200 or whatever for the set they can issue me a new certificate to make it "official" or not it will not make a difference to me the certificate, the number, the edition all means nothing to me. It's about the product. I know not everyone feels this way and I respect that but I do.

:lecture:clap

Axe, throw us a bone here man!:lol
As long as it respects the edition size! I can guarantee that those Fullsets would not be sitting if the existing peices were made into DXs and with the news that loose items will now be offered, Especially that Raincoat :horror, well that waters down the fullset offering completely.

I wouldn't mind being about to get the overcoat atleast since its not in the normal set

I dont make the decisions bro, Im just a forum member like you all airing my views :lol

I have nothing against a clothing set being offered, as it doesnt interfere with the integrity of the release. The Raincoat was a part of the normal set so ofcourse its obvious that it will be offered with a clothing set too

Those who will sign up to the add on pack for this release are worthy of a DX upgrade :lol

If interest is needed to get a DX upgrade, and it respects the edition size and all current DX owners are cool with it, I would be totally in..I just purchased the Full Set recently...but all the money shots for this figure is with the overcoat which is a work of art! :panic:

If he does oblige and the whole DX exclusive items start to be sold parted out, I hope it will bring a new era where customisers will learn to start making more units based on the orders of buyers who will also learn that sold out means nothing more than 'lets just get enough hands and show them the money'. I mean itll really help me get some figures I missed out on for various reasons...

I hope we can now gather interest and get Rainman to re-release my personal favourite Stuart Little...

Axe, you keep comparing Rainman and Iminme's business model as the same, but its not.

Firstly and most importantly, Rainman does not sell to outside distributers directly. You have to fight it out just like everyone else. Second his "DX" offerings are based on accessories that won't neccessarily make or break a "Complete" look. The offering of an overcoat AND headsculpt would never happen under a Rainman DX option. That Overcoat is an essential part of the look, and less DXs were made available, and sets were set aside for Retailers and....I mean the list goes on and on. We're not asking to extend the edition size, we're asking to upgrade Existing sets to satisfy Real Collector/Community demand!

Hell Rainman even offered more accessories for Jules when collectors expressed their concerns and judging from his most recent release, buyers could get everything that $900 fullset owners got....with the exception of a "Wallet" and the Rainman handpainted service.

To reiterate...

I once expressed disinterest in seeing Kato/Sunhoc offer up Morpheus Clothing/Head combos and got blasted.
Then I suggested getting the extra items available with Robbie's gurney and got blasted.
Which means i've officially been on both sides. It's a no-win. So i'd rather feel that other collectors are happy. Let the poeple have what they want.

I also bought a fullset and would like an upgrade. I'll even commit to Axe's requirement that all upgraders be required to buy the expansion pack as well! :)

Aww cmon It was a joke! :lol

But we really need a LOT of interest if we can get that extra accessories thing rolling... things like the watch, walkman and nailgun really are essential to complete this release

Axe, you gonna help us out on this DX upgrade? A few people really want this and have asked for it. Friends of yours and customers of Denny. I don't see alot of DX owners raising hell about this. It's not Sold out yet and 60 is still an extremely low number if someone really wants to feel special about owning this. Work with us. These things are gonna dry up and be long gone Sold Out soon enough.

I dont call the shots turbo, Denny does so its all upto him :)... Im just another forum member posting/airing his views. I wont keep on airing my dissatisfaction about this idea though if thatll be any help... I mean I honestly cant be all its cool go right ahead in a few hours...

TheMadButcher, did you get a response from Denny about the upgrade to DX? I will be happy to send him an email to support the cause if need be,

let me know,

I will also be happy to send an email to Denny in support of this.

The edition is 60 and its not sold out. I mean after all it is labelled "custom-made" work! :lol

Don't get me wrong, but a "similar case" happened with the cowboy DX set. The pre order was totally a MESS. A lot of the members here wanted the DX set (including myself) but due to the poor system Iminime have on their website for pre ordering, a lot of us couldn't get the DX. And believe me that I tried to pre order it like 8 times, had the DX set in the cart and then puff!! It was gone :(

All this that I'm telling you is because a lot of us emailed Denny to express our problem (that couldn't pre order the DX set even though we had it in the "cart"). I even sent him facebook messages about it and he never replied to me. I think he only replied to one of us that "he was going to check it" or something like that, and then he never replied again..

We wanted the extra DX head (without the hat) of the cowboy, and until now we still want the DX head lol, and we will continue wanting that DX head and we'll never get it..

So my point is don't put a lot of hope on this "DX upgrade" for the overcoat. Most sure is it'll never happen :(

Good luck anyway to all of you, I'll support you if necessary. :1-1:
