Right skooter. There's an in-between nail/staple catogory for those little guys (but there're still nails), but what Bateman has is heavy duty and one that size is not even powered by power cord but by an air compressor.

Yeah, calling it a staple gun had been driving me far more insane than it should have.

But yeah, that gun needed an air hose and a compressor to even function. They cut off the fitting for the air hose to make it look sleeker, I guess.

I don't know the behind the scene production facts on it so It could be viewed as a mistake (because no nail gun that big works on a battery, or electric cord), or it could be playing into the whole fantasizing aspect since he never really kill anyone (or at least that many people) anyway.

It's possible this was a framing gun that didn't use an external compressor. There are a couple, like this one:

I'm almost positive I read someone from the set talking about removing the fitting.

Yea the little guys like that are different. Paslode makes a couple of roofing nail guns that sized that take battery packs. Anything heavy duty with the large magazine like Batemans needs a compressor. I also read that the fitting was removed for the sake of looking "cleaner", but it was fan talk on a message board. It probably is true but I just never heard it from an official source.

Why what's the matter?


My idea is something along these lines (just using this format as an example. Thingscan be interchangeable within this system):

Regular set: Standard sculpt, Full Suit, Axe, Knife, Brief Case

DX set: same as Regular Set but with the Extra Sculpt.

Expansion accessory pack: CD, Walkman, Video Tape, Cell Phone

A La Carte: Raincoat, Overcoat, Nail gun (just because the nail gun seems like it may take long and be a little more expensive then we think)

I think a mix of my idea and Axe's idea would satisfy everyone

i see but the chances of this being a reality ?

Just a suggestion. There are a few different camps here. Those who want certain things and those who want all (me ). Some sort of structure along these lines can take an accessory heavy character and offer it in different ways to satisfy all camps. But like I said, when I threw this past Dchung, he was interested in picking up the slack if Denny doesn't tackle the full gambit.

Staple/Nail Gun and Axe to me. Honestly I rather get the Staple Gun and only two accessories than three accessories. Things like a briefcase, handgun, knife, etc... can all be easily acquired for dirt cheap elsewhere, but something unique like the staple gun or chainsaw is much harder to come by, the former specifically.

i hope both sculpts come wit the regular set, or at least that the cold gaze is the primary sculpt. as it stands now, and not to nitpick, but here goes: with the manic sculpt, the chainsaw is a must as that sculpt is imo more useful for that scene given that the hair is slicked back. however, were they to redo the hair and make it wing out wildly, then i would say it's useable for the paul allen axe murder to the tune of sports.
the cold gaze would look great with the NAIL gun as then that pose could be recreated where he stand behind his secretary's head aiming at her.
the knife is a great touch regardless.

mike, i'm totally down to go in on dchung fillers with you. as i dont think bateman can have enough accessories.

Cool bro. I have a good feeling that at whatever capacity Dchung steps in, to pick up the slack or offer upgrades, there will be a bunch of people interested.

As I mentioned before about the screaming sculpt, I hope that they can change the brow area to the correct angles to show more expression. The sculpt is good but he looks like he's singing or just has his mouth open or something

Ok guys heres a breakdown...

The 2 accessories pretty much confirmed are the Axe, and Knife.

Denny however was saying that tooling the Nail Gun with his current schedules will do nothing but stop them from developing this project and cut development time to become even more...

He proposed the idea of an accessory pack/set for the figure to do those essential accessories he isnt able to include with the figure full release.
He is proposing to tool the Nail Gun and any other accessory we think essential at a later time when his schedule fits in.

* Till then he suggested he will be checking on the feasability of the Briefcase and 'Walkman' with his team...

So tentatively the main accessories will be

Axe, knife, CD case, Business Card, Briefcase* and Walkman*

Please state here if you are fine with this lineup of accessories or not, and the idea about a later expansion/accessory set.

Also I need some idea on the walkman he used, throughout the film, we see his headphones, never the walkman he keeps in the suit. So Denny suggested maybe make only the headphones with wires, and add another small accessory instead of a whole walkman which none of us can say with surety what it really is (brand, model, make etc etc)... In this idea, I had suggested they sculpt Bateman's Rolex from scratch instead of using an existing generic gold watch...

You can see it briefly right before he shoves it in his desk drawer when detective Kimball interviews him in his office for the first time. Not 100% sure but I think it's a Sony WM-D3 that was probably modified for legal purposes.

i'm cool with that plan, axe. imagine it will aid my aching wallet with the initial release, plus as is, it sounds like a fuller fig set than they've been doing lately: which is cool. so long as they do come back later with an expansion pack, i'll be absolutely satisfied. i'm really glad Denny is seeing the potential of a bateman set, and i appreciate the team working so hard to make it happen the right way.

As I was reading Axe's post him, shoving it in the desk drawer was the first thing I thought of. Then I scrolled down and saw you had it covered. Good eye brother!

I just kind of assumed it was Sony because that was the top name back then (still sort of is). I'm not 100% sure it was it was the model in the pic that you posted, but I'm sure some of us can dig up sufficient info. I'd like the full Walkman to be made at any rate. I don't think the headphones only thing is a good idea.

As for the watch, that's the only thing in his accessory list that can be found on the market. The Bruce Lee gold Rolex is perfect, just needs the bracelet to be painted with silver accents to match the two tone, and the face to be painted white.
