I would rather get ten figures a year. If Sideshow made a point of not releasing a figure until it had a sculpt as good as their best offerings, I think the need for Hot Toys would fall flat.

The sculpts are generally not a problem except they tend to be oversized. Paint applications can only be so good from a factory.

The area that Sideshow needs to improve in is they use cheap materials and poor tailoring. This also includes many accessory items, belts (w/ buckles), and hard plastic boots.

The sculpt and the paint apps are great...looking forward to Antilles now.

Did you have to re-sight the chin strap ? (looks like theres a mark where it used to be inside the helmet ?)

I had to re-sight mine (ive yet to take some sand paper to where the previous mark was left)

No...it's like it was right out of the box.

I've been thinking about getting a second one and replacing the head but I'm not sure which head I'd get.

Like some others, I used the "Brant" head from the Endor trooper. I never thought that head looked right on that figure. I also think "Praji" may look good under that RFT helmet.

There are also a lot of DiD figure head sculpts available on ebay and other website classifieds. You will need a large head to make it look right under that helmet though.

Actually, one side of the chin strap is supposed to be lower than the other. That's how the actual helmets were done. I remember seeing pics of this. In fact, you can barely notice it in back of the box. You'll even see that the helmet tends to tilt down towards the left when worn by the actors.

The RFT looks trustworthy, smart, and brave. I don't see GWB in the sculpt at all.

I guess I walked into that comment. I'll make one and only one counter on this point so as not to poison the thread: History will remember GWB in a far better light than the pop-culture currently allows...

And now onward.

I have the RFT in the crouching/listening pose at the moment and I'm knocked out by the likeness and how immediately recognizable and iconic this character (who had at best 20 seconds worth of screen time) is to Star Wars. Great choice by SS to add this one to the 12" line.

I highly doubt that. (or at least I pray that past mistakes are not easily forgotten) ((OK, I don't 'pray' but I do strongly hope))

Speaking as a non American.... the world media portrays him as an Idiot.
I personally like to think of him as a poor public speaker & am sure he did some things right :horror.

But onto the figure it sure looks great, But I just can't convince myself to buy this Rebelscum despite me having the cash burning a hole in my pocket.

Well, if by 'some things' you mean occasionally spell his name correctly and from time to time remember to lift the seat before peeing, you could possibly have a point, but I'm not sold.
:whip *whippah!*

LOL!:rotfl
As I said the Media portrays him as an idiot, I'm sure he provided the evidence

GWB = George W. Bush for the uninitiated...

Well, if you squint reeeeallllllly hard and turn your head slightly to the left to use your peripheral vision... no, not really. Still don't see it. Perhaps it's a projection of love? :huh Personally, I think he looks more like Peter Graves from the old 1966 Mission Impossible TV show:
