I don't know why they programmed the grenade launcher to fire like that... especially considering they don't operate like that at all. It was changed in RE3 to fire like a normal projectile thankfully.
I feel like they tried to nerf it since Jill's RE1 campaign became much more manageable with it in hand, along with her lockpick. The problem is in RE2 I think they nerfed it too hard and didn't keep it in mind with Mr. X and other gameplay things, and the fact that she doesn't get a shotgun or Magnum (something no RE character should be without!).
Well it was actually a grenade launcher in RE1, but they stupidly called it a bazooka.

Claire should always take the Mac 10, and I always leave the side pack for Leon.
Yeah I don't get it either :dunno but yeah, Claire needs that Mac 10. Even on Claire A i don't trust her arsenal to not need it. Side pack is fine for Leon since I feel he should get something...though giving it to Claire to help her with the Mac 10 is fine too.

On Brad it's not too big....or I think at the time with Pliss's spoiler tag to account for.

Yeah best not look at it. I think RE2 is the best of the series. RE3 was rushed out since Code Veronica's development was taking longer than expected and put it together in like 5 months. I love RE3. It's shorter but it was made harder. There's speedruns beating it in 45 minutes.

It's should like Zero, RE, RE3, RE2 and then Code Veronica. :lol

is PS now any good? 85% of the time the only reason i plug in my ps3 is to play some resident evils. Now with having 4 5 and 6 on ps4 im wondering if its worth while getting ps now to play code veronica and the chronicle games and revelations games. I know its a streaming service, but ive never used one for gaming

Ok good to know on RE3. Setting expectations to 'realistic' on that one.

Aside from RE4 and RE5-6, any other ps2 era RE games that come highly recommended?

In RE3, the Cryo Grenade rounds are the strongest, so definitely try making those.

Outbreak 1 and 2 but since you can't play them online anymore it's not as fun. Still solid classic RE entries especially if you pretend the dumb NPCs are people and pretend you're actually playing online :lol. Resident Evil: Dead Aim (aka Gun Survivor 4) is a decent side entry.

I never really considered that. She might be the only character in the series that never got access to the Magnum, even in Code Veronica. Sparkshot eats balls.

I bash CV a lot, but I like the story. I just hate it's not prerendered and everything visually looks boring to me.

When you get to it, put it on Hard Mode (it's the intended difficulty). Easy Mode starts you with an arsenal of weapons from the jump and it just kills the experience. Also, do you're best to "kill" Nemesis every time you confront him. He'll drop items (only in Hard Mode) mostly gun parts. Say you beat him, you'll get "Gun Parts A"... the next time you'll get the B parts to make the gun. He'll also drop satchels of First Aid spray that holds three cans.

One interesting thing about RE3 is the live events where you need to make a decision on how to proceed during specific events and it changes the course of the game. You get the first one when you meet Nemesis the first time.

There's also an "Emergency Dodge" mechanic in the game where if you time it right and click aim and fire, Jill will jump out of the way of an attack.

So far, only beating the first on Normal....hard is next. RE2's normal mode is challenging to me. Too few bullets..

She didn't even get a shotgun until Revelations 2...she can briefly use it in CV's end game but that's not much at all. No magnum at all is mind boggling though!

CV is all right, but it's design choices didn't really accommodate the general RE structure. Like how it's one long continuous campaign with both characters, but with the old save system and ranking system. Also can be deceptively hard too with a few particular sequences.

And yeah play on Hard. It's not actually that hard or bad either. The Emergency Dodge is very finicky though and if you're too close to a wall or something, the dodge won't really help you.

The game is too big for using the old structure mechanic of the older games. That Magnum sidequest sucks ass. All the other games you just pick the damn thing up.

Makes me question it a lot in general, like why it turned out like this.

I would also avoid killing zombies in certain areas. Some are just work running away from.

The grappling system being a huge pain in the ass and the threat of Crimson Heads means you should probably only get rid of zombies in areas you will frequently visit or have too narrow of a dodge space. RE2 in some spots yeah you may want to avoid zombies, at least the introduction imo. I think a few can respawn though, and RE3 can be bad with this since entirely new enemies can take the spot of old zombies OR the zombies will just disappear for some reason :cuckoo:

Picked up RE5 last week for PS4 for $12, haven't touched but my case was partly broken and the disc was rattling around and got scratched up so I had to replace the whole thing. Now I have a proper RE5 :lol gonna boot it up sometime, the last main stream game I didn't play. And just before RE4 HD comes out, hype!

RE2? Where are you at in it?

Deep into Clare's storyline. My problem: too little ammo too many zombies.

Project A: yeah, starting to just run around them more....its fun but forget I am not playing a modern title that holds your hand constantly.

Update: made some decent progress last night. Played as the kid, got the last key. Seem to have visited every room. Just missing 2nd half of the blue animal stone. Even though been to every room, still looking for a gear for the gear room. I missed something

You need to solve the small puzzle in this room:

Get the lighter and solve it and once you solved it the gear drops. Go back to the attic, use the crank to bring down the stair and place the gear and you'll get second half of the stone.

Thanks, Project A. Yeah, once I grabbed the lighter, the puzzle itself was pretty easy. I am now in the sewers, played as the little girl for the 2nd time, and just rescued her. Looking for 2nd medal.

And of course, my new Vizio 4k tv (which has one component cable option) does not play nice with my PS2 slim. Takes about 3 reboots for it to not show 'no signal' but when I boot up to menu, its never an issue. Just with a game (any game). And of course disk 2 didn't want to start today....

LOL. the things we put up with for games.....but having a lot of fun with this series. As a long-time Silent Hill fan, I have to accept Konami is done. And what they pulled to their MGS guy is just too much. Capcom is at least still trying, as I heard another member say it.

Thanks for all the help, everyone.

Update: just took out the Dad/Monster character, but the fact I am still finding tons of ammo tells me this scenario isn't over yet. LOL
