Just came back

I liked it more than the third one (which I hated a lot) but there were still issues. The beginning was really good

Honestly, it's almost not even a zombie movie anymore, it's almost completely action, and most of the characters suck

The 3D is pretty fantastic, although when they're swimming underwater it felt really awkward, I'm wondering if they had to use a different camera setup for that.

Like others have said, the soundtrack is awesome, good work on that.

CG is overdone, and there are some really bad shots, like anything with the airplane, and then with the shot of the clones jumping through a window into a shaft her CG head bounces around on her body.

As far as making a good horror movie, they've really messed it up by making the infection global, they can't go back now unless they do a reboot (I don't have a problem with that).

As for Wesker:

He was horrible, really bad actor, and his fight scene at the end was pretty bad, way too much like the matrix, I much prefer how it was handled in RE5, and I'm sure he'll come back, but it's still ridiculous, he gets stabbed in the brain, then the back of his head blown off, then shot like 50 times and still doesn't die, that's just crazy.

They're definitely hoping to be able to do another film, I don't know if they'll be successful enough though. But still, liked it better than the third one, but not as good as the first two.

I just saw this film today and I have to say it was pretty good imo for what is was. And I agree that the underwater camera work was a little crazy at times. lol Made me shake my head and blink a few times. But overall I enjoyed this film.

Were there many people at the midnight showing?

We actually did seem to have a pretty packed house. Surprisingly there were no annoying people :lol

Does Wentworth Miller and Ali Larter have a good amount of screen time? I'm sure Ali does... but Wentworth is barely in the commercials...

They do actually, Wentworth a little less than Larter but he does a lot more than what the trailers let on.

Ugh that news alone means I'll definately not see this in theaters.
Did he at least transform?
Also what montsers were in it beside the Excecutioner and zombies and Cerberus'? Did Jill have an appearence at least?

Wesker kinda transforms but you won't like it lol He just has a bigger set of majini/plaga mandibles that come out. the monsters you mentioned are the only ones in the movie and yes Jill is in the movie. She is the little cameo during the end credits. They just set her up for the next film...should there be one.

the fight scene was pretty much the handled the same way in the game...just with a few less slow mo bullets and a bit different choreography/shot angles, I mean, which part are you referring too exactly? The slow mo dodges and what not?...cause that's all there in the game Also you pump tons of ammo into Wesker in the game during both fights and he just shakes it off for the most part, not too mention he catches rockets and has them blow up in his hand...the guy is pretty durable man.

Who was the lady at the end of the film in the chopper? And what was that thing on her chest?

I recommend wrapping spoiler tags around your post brother.

That was Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine. One of the heroines from the second film (and a main character of the games) and the thing on her chest was similar to the same controlling device the other people had on them in the film. Basically it's controlling her, making her a villain. If you play RE5 that's actually a major plot point from the game

She looks totally different............I had no idea that was her

I loved, loved, loved the dogs. Again, havent played the games but Silent Hill 3 had a dog type creature that did a similar 'splitting' action.....and I agree, these are pure action movies now.

Yeah, she had the same look transition in the game. I think it's pretty cool how they were able to easily implement that plot point from the games. Cool touches

Those dogs were rockin! I know the SH dogs you're talking about too. Awesome stuff.

I hope HT adds one of those dogs as an accessory to the Alice figure :lol

Too much slow-mo matrix stuff, plus Wesker in the game was more confident in his abilities and how he used them, he was clearly more powerful then. And in the game, he always dodged your bullets, that was the missle thing, which he couldn't dodge, then you could shoot him, but of course you always shoot things a lot in games, even if it's not realistic. For the movie I would understand a fast-healing ability, but he didn't have that, his brain was blown out of his head and he got up again, that makes no sense.

I wonder what they would actually do for another sequel, considering they don't have any more material they can use from the games (they used RE5, and all the other game material can't be done if the entire world is infected as it is in the movies now).

Uhh:monkey4 That sounds almost as bad as the talking Tyrant. So Jill is barely in the movie? Lame. I was really hoping she'd at least be a central character. Tell me The Executioner at least gets some decent screen time.

Yeah he does. He is probably one of the best scenes of the movie and he has a fantastic death

not sure what movie u guys watched, but resident evil afterlife is hands down the worst movie of the year. and that's really saying something.

i honestly lost count of the number of movies it ripped off. after the credits started rolling, one dude in the cinema started swearing very loudly. and folks started laughing. which was the highlight of the movie.

There are a lot more movies that I have watched this year that I will rank below Resident Evil Afterlife (Expendables...).
Movies, for me will always be split into two categories. Pure entertainment and cerebral. And Resident Evil, games included are anything but the latter.

The RE movies to me have always been very aware of what they are trying to do, i.e blowing things up and kicking arses with a hot female lead. They never try to pretend to be more than that.

Heck, I walked out of the cinema entertained, felt I got my money's worth and eagerly anticipating another one.

They must be doing something right cause the games are looking more and more like the movie.

if u were entertained by re afterlife, then power to u, man, to each his/her own after all.

but to absolve a movie of the need to be well-made just because they're in the "latter" category of "pure entertainment", is just plain wrong. cos afterlife is anything but well-made. it is horribly acted, shoddily written, amateurishly produced, and "directed" with such a lazy, cynical lack of originality and passion, or any care for anything even resembling respect for the audience. nobody's asking for a cerebral experience. but that does not automatically give a movie permission to be so extraordinarily hare-brained. it's one thing to pay homage to other movies by recalling certain iconic scenes. but what afterlife did was unforgiveable. they ripped off so many scenes from the matrix almost VERBATIM. and that's just the tip of the whole crappy iceberg.

yeah, i'm being harsh. but i really think a movie like afterlife is a glaring example of everything that's wrong with hollywood. just my 2 cents'. feel free to disagree.

:peace
