as a long-time RE player/fan the only thing i have a problem with is they are going in the action direction which is fine but when the zombies are moving a lot faster they do need to speed up the player's "turning speed" so hopefully that will be an option. the slow movement was there for a reason to create the horror feel but since they've moved in a new direction they need to change the players movement to match it and the horror feel is now the number of "zombies" and their quick movements rather than the way it used to be. that being said i'm still really looking forward to playing this.

i cant wait for this game. march is gonna be a great geek month with watchmen and re5

Resident Evil 5 Shorter than Anticipated
Written Monday, February 23, 2009 by Dan Webb

UK mag, Xbox World 360 are reporting that the upcoming survival horror title from Capcom is measuring in at a paltry 8 hours which will surprise many after Resident Evil 4's rather lengthy affair.

The mag who have already completed the full version of Resident Evil 5 clocked their first playthrough in at "seven hours, thirty-six minutes and one second." That time does not include the cutscenes which for all intents and purposes adds up to 80 additional minutes.

The mag states "this time was achieved in single player and on the normal difficulty. This was not a speed-run, nor were we pressured for time."

Of course, the longevity of the title will depend on replayability but is that still too short for you to spend top whack on it?

Hmmm...that is short compared to RE4. However, my extended playthroughs in RE4 were lengthy because I explored everything the game had to offer...I wonder if they did the same when playing through RE5...

edit: if they didnt, it probably wouldnt add that much additional time, so theoretically the total time with cutscenes would be around 9-10 hours...much less than the 14 hour jaunt in RE4.

As for the time, I don't think that will be too much of a hurdle. Even though, it's sad that GoW2 will have a longer playtime. :huh:huh:huh:huh

I will like you guys said, play this through a couple of times. I'm watching the Resident Evil Retrospective and it's getting me all hyped for this one.

Ostensibly most people will get more total playtime with RE5 because of the multiplayer and Co-op (something RE4 did not have).

I'm fine with 9-10 hours total if it's a non-stop rollercoaster. The shorter length might mean better pacing. There were some lull moments in RE4 I could do without, like guiding Ashley through previously traversed areas.

RE5's alleged short length reminds me of another game: MGS4, but I didn't mind it in that game because it was fun and had extremely high production values.

A pic has been posted on Xbox Live that lists what will be included in the RE5 Edition Red Xbox 360 bundle:

Some earlier pics of the red console made it online a while ago, but now is when it is officially revealed.

I beat RE4 the first time around in about 9 hours and still explored everything and got most of the hidden items in the game.

I don't like the metallic red color of the RE-Themed Xbox. Doesn't seem to fit to me for some reason.

As for the reboot, I really hope it's the mechanics of the game and not the story. RE4 and RE5 seem to be more like action games and less spooky-horror games like RE1 was. I'm thinking they'll go back to the RE1 style gameplay, which is going to be awesome.

Is RE5 even gory as the original PS1 games? I am watching the footage of that El Gigante getting shot up, in thinking chunks of his body should fly off. He's getting hammered with armor piercing tank rounds.

Damn I always wanted to upgrade to an elite and this would be perfect!

I am broke though.
:lol

it would of been nice if the system was more like the halo edition where it had a special design on it. Or atleast the RE5 logo on the top of it.
