Yeah you do, it's more important than RE:3 for sure, Especially since RE4 ties directly into RE5 with the Plagas

Well in my opinion RE 3 was sooo much better than RE4 in terms of story. I still say skip RE4 and read the wiki on it. But according to the wiki on RE5, which could be incorrect, isn't RE5 more following the original story line, than that BS they made up in RE4?

And I also believe you have to play RE 3 because that ties into RE5 in the fact that in RE3 don't they mention Africa was where the origins of the original virus and such came from?

i dug out my old ps1 games and found Resident Evil, Director's Cut. Love the live action intro. I didn't play it too long though and won't play it again before RE5 but it made me remember how good we have it now with the graphics of today's games.

Im playing RE5 (European Colectors edition) since yesterday and ..Man this game is awesome!! Im in the chapter now 3-2 and the history becomes more and more interesting...

I was wondering that too--I haven't really played the other games but there's a flashback to a castle with an old guy named Spencer, then there's a confrontation between him and Wesker and then Jill and Chris come in.

well, i've played all of the RE games except the "shooter" ones and the ones on portable systems. which sucks because i didn't think they added anything to the story, but that video suggests otherwise.
