Resident Evil Raccoon City sandbox game needs to happen.
RE3 sandbox IMO.
Jill, a Handgun, keys to the S.T.A.R.S RPD cabinet. Make your way there and choose a few guns you can carry, and then you gotta make your escape like in the original, except its totally non linear, youve got the whole of uptown and downtown at your disposal. You meet a hoarde? Do you barricade yourself into a house, or can you get to the rooftop of a house or building? Lock a shutter down in a shop and escape through the back? Or do you tackle them head on with your newly aquired rifle or shotgun and sparingly use the ammunition you can carry?
Id like it where you carry a bag, and you have a maximum weight you can carry before it slows you down, and you could drop the bag in combat to be more agile, go back to it for more ammunition if its in there.
Sounds totally non RE, but i want the emphasis on surviving the horror, I want an open Raccoon City where I can come across other survivors. Take the cable car in uptown; do I go through the back alleys and risk the drain demois which killed those UBCS or getting cornered from both sides by zombies? Do I risk going ontop of the buildings like in Outbreak, you could fall and die? Do I take the safe route and go to open areas which I can scope out?
It would be awsome to be able to choose the direction you want to take. Do you risk going to where the police blockades are, will the police be zombies or not mutated yet? Do you scour the bodies for their weapons, ammunitions, keys they may have or communications equipment or do you not risk it, and just focus on point to point moving on?
Id love that sort of RE 3 remake,and it should be over the shoulder; its a much better way of playing the game. I want to be forced to flee, or be brave and try taking the zombies out, only to draw more. I want it to make me pick and choose which Battles i need to have. If its an area I go through alot, i need to clear it atthe risk of drawing more zombies towards the area.
Really, think MGS3, weight affects, sprained ankles, cuts, bruises, bleeding. I want a true survival horror experience. Imagine having nemesis in non scripted events, him actually chasing you all over raccoon city, your desperatly trying to flee from him AND not getting caught by Zombies, Drain Demois, Brain Suckers, Hunter Beta's, Cerberus'. It would be awsome.
They would HAVE to change Mikhail though, you need to see him get wounded, not meet himon his death bed. It would be awsome if you meet Mikhail/Carlos/Nicholai, and you work with each of them, or at least with Mikhail and Carlos. instead of keep god damn splitting up all the time, the 3 of you make your way to the garage say. All 3 of you, Mikhail and Carlos covering the corners and your back, slowly walking through the alleys, choosing which fights are best not to happen.
Thats one thing I loved in the 2nd resident evil film, and the ONLY thing I liked about any of the films, Mikhail, Carlos and Nicholai in the alleys. It would be awsome to have that element in the game, even more limit on the ammunition shared by the 3.
I liked that aspect of ORC if it was done better, UBCS and Jill working together and not splitting up.
