OMG this time next week. Ill be knee deep in Zombies. Im gonna give Leons Scenario a damn good attempt to finish in 1 day. I did MGS 4 in 1 day.

To me Leon and Chris are the best ones. So I'll play jack first then Chris and the creme last lol

After playing the demo, I think this game on the metacritic ratings is going to be between 8.3-9.0. I really like the demo although the controls will take some getting used to. The problem I have with the demo is how the cover system isn't so smooth like Gears of War franchise. I think the cover system is what will hurt the game the most and will make some areas of the game frustrating.

Just played the demo of Leon, looks really cool the only thing so far is the controls, little time to get used to, gonna try to get the archives edition....

Technically, neither were the following:

RE/REmake: Evil doer was unknown until finale and was done in via cutscene. Goal: get the **** out alive!

RE2: Evil doers either done in via cutscene or boss fights as a monster in your way. Like RE3, they pursue you, just more scripted. Goal: Per Leon, look for survivors, and get the **** out of there!

RECV: ***** got in the way, Chris did his hero thing! Goal: Rescue Claire, get the **** out alive! Damn it Wesker! (Hero thing fails :()

I would say that doesn't matter, but usually characters in the first entry become mainstays in movies and video games and make a return. Rebecca could be argued as a major character, but we all know she isn't despite starring and being present in two canon entries. Even Harry Mason was more important than Rebecca Chambers! Samanosuke Akechi was major because Onimusha 3 made him. But I'm talking about an entire series, not just each entry. Get my drift? RE3 could've been about Elza and Jill forgotten like so many others. Hence, Jill wasn't important until RE3 made her important with as you say, expanding her character with her own story arc.

It's like saying Harry Mason is important to the Silent Hill series after SH2 just came out. He may be important to the first game obviously, but with only two games to go on, no. SH3 made him important even though all we see is his corpse, but we can't know that until the character is used again.

However, you could say that since there were only two RE's out at the time, every character was major and I see where you're coming from with that. There's no way of telling who will become a distant memory, forever forgotten. Hence, why Barry and Rebecca aren't major characters to the series now, yet...if ever :impatient:
O ye, of little faith. They'll see a return, as will Claire.

And yes, in a way that was my point, about Jill being a main character. Even back then though, I always thought Jill and Chris were the two main characters, as they were the first to discover the Umbrella plot... and the fact that they both survived.

I think Jill has always been a main char. She was playable and as important as Chris on the first game and remake. I mean if you consider Chris a main char because of RE1 then so should be Jill.
Then in RE3 she got her next appeareance and in RE5 Chris has his. (and jill again as a secondary char that we all knew).
Leon and Claire were main char in RE2. Then Claire got her solo appeareance (well with steve) in CV and Leon in RE4.
I think in RE6 however, Jill should have appeared some how as a partner of someone, perhaps a separate story line with her and Josh from Re5 just like they did with sherry and jack or with leon and helena. However that would have taken too much disc space LMAO.
I think there should be a download content or a "gold edition" that will contain Jill and Josh adventure for the game.. unless of course RE7 is about Jill and Josh. Afterall they both scape together RE5.
Don't jump the gun. The game hasn't even been released yet. There's already been four scenarios announced, with a final "fifth" one being mentioned recently. There's no telling who could be in the last scenario. It could be Jill or Claire. I'd be happy with either, but I really wish Jill would return as a playable character, as I have a long pre-existing bias, lol.

I rarely use the cover system. However, when I have, I simply hit the aim button and the character then pressed up against the wall. Although, I'm not sure it does that in Chris' scenario. And by the way, I think it's unfortunate that metacritic is the social forum in which a game is perceived as "pass" or "fail."

Cover system? Just run into the crowd of gun toting J'avo with your balls swinging and guns a' blazin.

Dont know why people are having such a tough time with the controls. I pretty much mastered the controls easily with all three characters. I even was kicking ass as jake

I hated the freaking dog like triceratops creatures from Jake scenario..really... damm.

Yeah, I'm kicking ass in the demo/game. I try to play more traditionally when in Leon's scenario, but even then I like to throw down from time to time. Running and sliding under a bench or table and then countering a zombie as you get to your feet is one of the most satisfying moments in the game, so far. The quickshot combos, with the shotgun, as Helena are pretty awesome too. Then there's the sprinting reverse slide maneuver. The latter actually saved me from death a few times, when playing with new players.

The iguana things? Yeah, those guys pretty much force me to use the action elements introduced in the game.

Yea I loath those iguana things. For people saying the game is to easy , try fighting those things while javo are shooting at you. That isn't even the strongest javo type. But yea I'm kicking ass in the demo. Even as Chris I pretty much got the controls down to a science. Leon is like an amped up re4 and I was a beast in that game. Can't believe people are comparing this to Orc which had horrid controls and terrible ai and enemys. My co op partner always is on his/ her toes. Sherry was destroying those lizard things with her electric stick.

I'm not going to play the demo or watch any footage until the game comes out. Don't want anything to be spoiled :D

I know the entire game is going to be amazing anyways! :yess:

I think there was an article from my Game Informer magazine talking about how much influence metacritic have on game developers. Its a BIG thing that is being compared with sales number that will determine who gets laid off, get bonuses for meeting a high score, and such. I am not going to write a long page full of text of how I believe metacritic is a pretty solid way to measure a game, but I will say that Resident Evil 6 will hit over 4.5 million copies with an average score between 8.4-9.3. (Played demo again last night and feel a little better about it.)

He's not stable, crazy psycho much? LOL

Anyway, couldn't tell much but is that China being nuked?
