It's funny, but Hot Toys isn't in this game "for the fans", though at one point, I think we liked to think that. Anything classic or what not I'm convinced we have to fend for ourselves. I mean.. this is company who got the MGS license and their first release isn't Solid Snake.

I don't understand the MGS license, its a big waste of time..
HT won't make something unless they are sure it'll make a lot of money, and even like that.. they can give you a expensive figure like the Samurai Predator with the painting unfinished (I have him for po I hope mine is ok)

I want a HT'S Lara Croft but that won't happen, ever! LOL As for the MGS figures I was going to purchase them but not my favorite outfits and I rather save those funds for future RE figures.

To be fair. They did make STARS Chris and Wesker and RPD Leon. All though they were alt costumes in the game they were not the only alt costumes they could of went with. They didnt need to make them at all. But it would be a bit stupid of them to cater to classic RE fans giving there is no coinciding game to go with the figures they are trying to shift. So the only "old school" stuff we will see is an alt costume from a newer game. But, that being said this game has alt costumes in the 32 bit style and accuracy of the original games... so id love that if it were to ever come to light.

Don't get me wrong, I think the outfits on those figures are great, but overall they were appreciated releases but not a for the fans thing imo. We're talking about the same company that mines Hollywood's back catalog for a living right?

I honestly see no reason why Hot Toys couldn't do a few classic RE figures, especially since there is a demand for them from the community. All you have to do is look around and you'll see people like us dropping tons of money on customs. Hot Toys could easily fill that nitch and not lose money imo. BUT, that's just my opinion, I admit I could be completely wrong!

I'm not picky so I don't care which character or enemy they make. I need a Leon, Sherry, Jake, and I don't mind another Chris. As for Piers and Helena, Hot Toys made Sheva so why not them.

I just want to see the main characters made, but I realize at this point it's like a baby trying to ask his mother for a specific baby food- SOL, you get what you get.

I agree.. I mean.. with Big Boss they could have at least TRIED to make her look like a female..

Exactly. They coped out y'know? They could have gone the extra mile, but they didn't. I mean, yeah I know, us "hardcore" fans are probably perceived as a small percentage, but I can't accept STARS Chris or Wesker as proper versions of the characters. To me they come across as stand ins, and as what they are, RE5 variants. Don't get me wrong, I love RE5 Chris, I think he looks great, but it's not STARS Chris in my mind.. it's like, cheating. lol.

Also, let's be honest, Hot Toys really failed on Leon's head sculpt. Maybe it was perceived as good for the time, but it doesn't even look like RE4 Leon.

Maybe one day I'll actually learn how to use zbrush or something and satisfy this urge I have to have all of the classic characters represented as I remember them.

That being said, I like just about every incarnation of the characters, I just prefer they be done as they should be. Now bring on RE6 Ada Wong, b/c she's my favorite version of Ada yet!

But dont all the Remake characters have actual likeness issues given they belong to real people though? And the ps1 graphics are not worth salvaging into something new. Easier to just keep the heads we got. (Though of course some of us got the Remake Chris heads, and id love a remake Wesker)

I actually prefer his headsculpt than the ingame face lol it was an epic win for me.

Seriously.. do companies just think high quality video game merchandise is a poor market? I feel like the video game merch is sorely lacking when it comes to action figures. Resident Evil, Zelda, Tekken, God of War, etc. There are so many cool properties to explore. Instead we get sporadic releases that are hit and miss at best.

I mean.. half the reason I buy certain video games is b/c of the character designs. I won't lie.. I bought Darksiders II b/c of how cool Death looks!

Good questions. Well, my friends who play video games don't collect action figures, maybe your typical Neca figures. As for 1/6 scale they think it's too expensive.
