I'm talking about in terms of story order, you need to chillax dude you constantly flip out at people.

Thats flipping out? Really? Like, exclamation marks dont mean flipping out :slap More of a DONTS FORGET TEH CUBE GAMES!!! Kinda thing

CV is still the RE i hate most after 5. Just so horrible and boring to play. Story was great but i never finished the game. Got to start as chris and found it a chore to play. It always felt abit cartoony/cell shaded. But it had the best re track

How did you confuse cel shaded with primitive graphics? It was the last true RE. But I do agree with you on RE5, what a bad game in terms of story and zero scare/horror factor.

How was it boring? The areas constantly changed. The knife was usefull, duel weapons, added weapons such as the explosive crossbow rounds and acid shells, machine guns, sub machine guns ect. So theres a ton of new weaponry added. The battles with the monsters were more interactive, you could wriggle free from the zombies without harm, have to free yourself from a bandersnatches grasp, have to watch out for the Borg Hunters tracking devices. It had darting zombies as well as slow moving and it had a Crimson Head nicely placed. And it had the best OST to go with it!

Was the reason its boring because of the graphics?

The only thing I hated was Steve's voice and everyone having the exact same shoe noise when walking :lol

I've said this 1,000 times here already but I love the story of CV but the controls kept it from being one of my favorites in the series. For some reason I had a very difficult time running past and dodging zombies and it took nearly an entire magazine of handgun ammo to put down a single zombie. Plus the fight with the Tyrant on the plane aggravated me to no end.

It was a chore to play. Content didnt matter when it felt like a chore to play.

My problem with CVX is that it just felt abit, boring. The story was great, but how I had to get onto the story, and what I had to do to progress, was boring. The gameplay had gotten old. Thats why asmuch as i love outbreak, its horrible to play as well.

I didnt like the enemy designs either. bandersnatch was ace, but the spiders were horribly designed. Nothing like black widows. wasnt a fan of the hunter designs either. Zombies were abit naff too.

I didnt like the graphics. It felt too cartoony for me. I know CV came out in 2000 on DC and 01 for the PS2, but the year after REmake and Zero came out, and they felt like totally different games compared to CVX. Most likely as it was DC port. But it just always felt like the odd game out to me, graphically and pacewise.

Its like, it had the controls of RE2 but the graphics of what was next gen back then. And I found it unplayable. Yet REmake the year after I adored, most likely because of its superior realistic graphics, and the walking animations of weapon readied, felt really natural. I loved walking everywhere because rushing round a corner would get you decapitated. They didnt feel like tank controls to be honest apart from manouvering around a hunter.

CV didnt have no atmosphere IMO. I just didnt like it. Believe it or not, its the only RE game ive never finished aside from Gaiden which I never played. RE4 i finished countless time, RE5 i finished 4 times. CV? Zero times. I just couldnt play it, it felt like i had to put effort in to play it with no enjoyment. Hell, I finished Gun Survivor 2 CV (which for some reason had nemesis in lmao!) but CV to date is the only game I couldnt stand to play for more than 10 minuets.

I am still unsure as to why you do not like CV. As for the last few posts i kind of had a hunch it was basically because of the graphics and im still thinking it is mostly the case now. You say the gameplay had gotten old and felt old when it came out yet CV was a step forward in many ways such as the the action and weaponry i mentioned, follow-cam and it being the first game to go to first person view when using a rifle. Also alot of the tasks were unique to the game and the way you played 2 main characters 1 straight after the other rather than an overlap was the first and only time they have gotten it right. Then you go to say you really like 0 and Remake but they really were steps backwards and even more boring and slow in gameplay. But they had realistic graphics.

For me its the other way around. I find 0 and Remake to be the most boring to play because the pace is that of feeling like its going so slow your playing it under water. They are still in the top 4 RE Games but Remake is especially boring at times. And 0... man oh man having to swap and drop items all the time. It has to be the most boring RE game of them all. After having completed them a few times too you cannot really hang your hat on the " it has atmosphere " when you know your way around it like the back of your hand and have no surprise jumps you dont know about. Remake is a classic, great graphics, story, setting, ost ect. But when i awnt to pick up an RE game and have fun id go to 5,4,ORC, CV,3,2, Umbrella Chronicles & Darkside chronicles before it

Ah well you like what you like and i like what i like!

Zero and Remake had slower pacing which suited the game. it suited the survival horror which those games were. Slowly walking through the halls of the mansion in which rushing round a corner could get you instantly killed is what made REmake. it was the last true survival horror RE game. That and Zero are the only games that made me want to play slow, walk slow so I didnt get killed, so I could explore the environment and absorb the surroundings, stop and listen for the slight sound telling me theres a Hunter, Crimson or Zombie. The story built perfectly and the pacing was just right for both. The story was much more intriguing, there was no super human characters, it was ordinary police officers in an extraordinary situation.

Same with Zero. The pacing was perfect. Slowly surveying the train until the dead started waking up, they brought the pace up all the way till you had to stop the train. It crashed, and the pace slowed down again along with the music as you covered the training facility room by room. Brilliant pacing and use of music.

Part of my dislike for CV is as I have stated twice; the fact it felt very cartoony. Enemy designs were cartoony and poor bar Bandersnatch. Love the idea of the poisonous hunter but didnt like the design, the colouring was very cartoony and was the odd RE out. It didnt have a realistic feel or look which REmake/Zero/outbreaks had, and the PS1 days the graphics were superb. The other part is that i just didnt enjoy the game. there was no atmosphere, nothing made me want to play past that god awful tyrant fight in the plane. Then going aaaall the way back to the start with Chris, it was just such a horribly boring journey.

Follow-cam and 1st person with the rifle doesnt make CV a jump forward. Dino Crisis had follow camera, it doesnt change the fixed angles it had. It doesnt change or add anything gameplay wise as they still had fixed cameras too. 1st person with the rifle made sense so you could aim with the scope.

Lets not beat around the bush. if they changed CV's cartoon graphics and gave it atmosphere, id like it more. But it just felt very slow for no reason. The opening was ace, claire doing the slow mo catch the gun. but then in the game she moved like a tank again and the opening was just being flashy for the sake of it because from doing that to the horrible animation of the dual 100p's.

I still say, RE4 had the BEST gameplay. The BEST iteration of over the shoulder and the character movement was perfect. Remake, Zero, 2, 3..... give me those with the exact RE4 perspective and RE would be unbeatable.

And for me, my fun in a game comes from the story, imagination and how i get enveloped in its world. REmake, Zero and 3 do that for me. Similarly like Dead Space 1 is much slower like REmake, but the story and its atmosphere draw me so far in and envelope me in the world. Like Arkham City; its the story and world that makes a game fun to me regardless of play style. I could play RE4 over and over. Still hate it as an RE game, but as an action adventure game its awsome. Quick gratification bores me, I like things to build up and immerse myself in the story.

But you only go allllllll the way back for 20 minutes! Kill the worm, make the clement mix, get the 3 hexagonal crest pieces, get the blue crest with the key embedded in it and escape. Then your back to the antarctic base for 2 minutes that you recognize then its all new afterwards. From starting with Chris i can be off the island and past the antarctic areas claire explore within 25 minutes

I reckon you should get it completed ;-)

TO be honest, ive been wanting to complete it. I mean, ive got it on DC, PS2 AND GC, AND ive been thinking of buying the HD pack on PS3.

But since the beginning of the year I havnt bothered with playing games. I mean, I got Downpour and HD pack, Loved the start of downpour but I cant bring myself to pick up a videogame. I get all psyched to play one, pick the controller up and then think 'cant be arsed' so I just goto bed lmao!!!!

But i really do need finish it. Hell ive finished 5 for gods sake so CV deserves justice. Steve makes me cringe though. Incidently, I think the fight in SH2 where you run from pyrmaid head with Maria to the elevator has inspiration from the steve boss fight.
