Im still on the fence. Pretty expensive for a bare bones figure. And the fact that it’s from a spinoff movie and not an actual iconic fit from a game

Ordered my damnation Leon. It ticks both resident evil and military figure boxes for me. Love the outfit and the customised AK rifle. Loved the figure and knew I wanted it as soon as I saw the pictures!

That might be exactly why its not for me. Aside from the headsculpt it just look like a generic soldier. I’ll probably get FOMO but decided it’s not for me.

If it came with a dioramabase or something zombie related.. severed bodyparts. Or something to make it more RE related in general like a typewriter, some kind of virus vial (havent seen this movie). Just something to make it worth while.

I’m not really looking for another generic soldier. I want it to scream Leon Kennedy. The RPD and RE4 fits are so iconic, this fit just looks like… mission fast and furious and the impossible die hard bourne soldier #13388. To me atleast. I could justify it at $200 but $250 for barebones figure with Damtoys paint quality is just not worth it.

Yea price is pretty high for what it is. Got only bc it’s Leon otherwise I’m not crazy about it.

Im curious, when you say the RPD and RE4 fits are iconic are you talking about the OG or the remake?? Don’t get me wrong I like both remake designs for Leon but I don’t see how they are anyless generic soldier dude?

The OG RE4 Leon had this cool almost Bond agent vibe, but the remake once he loses the jacket just looks like a generic Swat dude that left his helmet and vest in the car.

(Tho I was watching the SWAT TV show before the release of the Remake so I had that image in my head already)

Where does the merchant get all of his shop supplies before the island? He probably raided the police car after the opening and is selling all of Leon’s gear back to him

You have a point. To me the police uniform is just unique looking and I like that it says RPD. The blue color and all the little details like the handcuffs, radio etc. Make it stand out.

The RE4 outfit is pretty much the same as the original aside from the jacket being a little different. The leathercoat looks really badass and I like the harness and muscular arms without the jacket.

This outfit doesn’t really do it for me, there’s not really something about this outfit that catches my eye. Which is all very personal. It’s probably because i havent seen the movie so I have no attachment to it. The headsculpt does look good.

It very much reminds me of James Bond and his personality in the OG matches this perfectly. His outfit/ look feels very complete and intentional.

But for his RE4 Remake look, to me it’s the complete opposite. Feels more generic, more basic SWAT guy and a little more grounded and not as cool. His outfit feels incomplete. Like hes got a tactical vest, helmet and rifle stashed in the back of the car and plans to gear up when he reaches his destination but gets ambushed along the way before he can.

RE4R Leon would not look out of place with the basic SWAT guys shown bellow.

I do agree that Damnation is the weaker of the outfits.

Is there any version of Leon that would tempt you into picking up a 4th??

Hm.. unsure which other version of Leon I’d like. I currently have RE2, RE4 and RE6.

Ironically really like these alternative outfits. Not because it’s iconic or typically Leon or anything. They just look really cool.

I don’t find the RE4R shirt that unique, but I wasn’t counting the jacket in that comparison since I don’t consider that his “main” look.

I suppose that’s where I go wrong is I don’t give the jacket enough credit. I have the collectors statue and the nendroid so I absolutely do not also want the MT Leon rocking the jacket too.

I don’t care for the medieval looking Leon, is it called the “Hero” costume?. I like my alt costume to feel almost canon like it’s something Leon would legitimately wear.

I do really like the Noir and the Casual costume, minus the giant print on the back.

Ironically part of why I like the casual outfit is because it almost feels like a throw back to a lot of the CGI stuff being casual with a sports leather jacket.

Can’t really find a good Image but very weirdly I’d like Leon in a suit from the RE4R prologue with an Alternate infinite darkness sculpt

I never liked original RE4 Leon appearance, all of them have a weird dead faces for my likeness. For me remakes truly took him and everybody else to the next level. My fav looks are from the remakes. Also it’s a coat for me. Whenever me and my friends see such coat, we call it “Leon coat”lol in the other games/movies he wears pretty generic outfits imo. Especially recent figure, if u remove the head u will never tell who’s that. I truly don’t like how skinny upcoming figure looks. I know he isn’t supposed to be superhero muscular, but body looks super weird, especially chicken legs.

Leon's a soldier/spec ops dude. So this is probably the most non-tactictal outfit we'll ever see him in as a 1/6 figure.

I'd still like to see some classic RE1 figures, but with the remake head sculpts.
Maybe one day...

See I’m the opposite, OG RE4 Leon is my all time favourite version of Leon.

With the exception of characters like Ashley and Leon’s RE2 outfit I think the remake designs are a massive downgrade that makes everyone look so generic.

His RE6 China outfit is anything but generic imo. I get how his casual jacket fit can seem generic but since that’s his most consistent look across his appearances it feels iconic.

I’m assuming you mean without context or knowledge of the movie? When you say remove the head, because even without the sculpt I see Leon and would still be a day 1 order… I’d just use the MT alt sculpt instead

For a spec ops dude, the majority of his looks are non-tactical, especially in his old age when he’s constantly in biker jackets.

Hey those leather jackets are at least 95% responsible for his success rate with his missions. Tactical can't let you do cool ninja **** the way a leather jacket can! (although Chris would probably disagree)

I’m not sure why u want to prove that we are wrong and you are right. lol l clearly said remake appearances are my personal favorites. I don’t see a problem. I have seen the movies many times but in my mind these characters look as they look in the games. That’s probably why I’m not sentimental about that new figure. Still preordered tho as I love Leon.

Nah I’m sure Chris would agree, look at him in this Village concept art totally trying to emulate Leon’s style with the jacket… even the high collar.
