Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

That's reassuring :lol Real Survival and Invisible enemy mode should be pretty doable.

Yeah, no biggie. You can do it in your sleep.

I'm doing Invisible Enemy mode and just got past the first encounter with Lisa. This time I think my best friend is the kerosine because you'll need it to clear the essential paths. Surround sound helped a lot too since I can pinpoint where an enemy is. Overall this seems harder than a knife run.

Real Survivor on the other hand, has a fixed difficulty so I'll tackle that last. I wonder if it's set to Hard?

In Invisible Enemy mode, using the gun to test shoot could help to pinpoint where the enemy is.
Some enemies with breathe heavily, saliva and etc will exposed their location.
Some wet / polished floors and water puddle will show the reflection of the enemy if the enemy passed by.

*strongly recommend to memorize all the enemies' locations in every areas so we can prepare our-self to dodge them.

The Real Survivor's difficulty is same with Hard mode
And without the linkage between the item boxes, this Real Survivor is really kick ass.
It is the real horror of this game, the hardest mode for me in Rebio HD.

Yeah, all those plus a good surround system lets you pinpoint an enemy in any direction. The engineers that re-purposed the original Dolby Pro Logic into 5 channel DTS really did an outstanding job since the mix is pretty good.

As for real survivor, I think I have an idea on where to stash my stuff and I would clear the path leading to it. Not for me to say with confidence, since you're the one with the Platinum trophy.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Honestly, I've been having a hard time accurately isolating sounds from anything that isn't a FPS/third-person-shooter game :lol. It's the same from what I've experienced with using my Astro A50 on REmake. Even with surround sound enabled, it operates like stereo sound, at best.

Hmm, that's strange. On PS4, the channel separation is distinct enough to save my @$$ on several occasions. This is just a theory, but maybe the PC version has inferior audio to the consoles. It's not like Capcom has ever made a less than stellar port for PC <cough> the first version of Resident Evil 4.

Regardless, I'm just glad we got a proper mix worthy of modern standards. The HD versions of RE4 and CVX on PS3 came with a low bitrate, analog stereo sound. :slap

RE4 and CVX don't even look like they're in HD, just up-scaled like The Splinter Cell HD Trilogy, I was pretty disappointed when I booted up the game. I first played it on my ******, non HD TV that I've had since 4th Grade and thought 'ok, this probably looks better on those huge HD TVs in the other rooms.' And it barely was. Compare that to REmake which looks like a dream. So the sound mixing doesn't surprise me for RE4 and CVX.

Indeed. RE4 on PS3 was a horrible port since they did nothing to the visuals aside from bumping the resolution to 720p. No texture filtering, no AA, nothing. The audio is the worst offender since it was inferior to every iteration that came before it. The Gamecube version ran on Dolby Pro Logic II and even on PS2, it sounded pretty good.

Code Veronica fared better as it had some work done such as improved lighting and redone water effects, but not by much.

The best version of RE4 you can get is on the recently released PC version which had substantially improved textures and even ran in 60fps. I saw it in person on a friends' rig and I want it on PS4 dammit!

CV is also older so it generally helps. Also...the trophy support for those games. Just, what the hell? So disappointing. And most of them are pretty obscure

I would possibly go for a PS4 version of RE4, but I'm fine with the version on Wii. It's...so natural to play the game on the Wii, with GameCube controller support too.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Phew, finally got the Platinum trophy after beating Invisible Enemies and Real Survivor in one evening. :yess:

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Awesome Ryan! I need to get around to that Plat.

Thanks Pliss! It's not hard at all, I did those two modes in one sitting and I was playing casually. I really love Real Survivor as it forces you to think even more strategically.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

That's reassuring. How would you rate the in-game difficulty? I don't know what those are set at. You can't chose it right?

You mean of Real Survivor? Well, the difficulty is locked on hard and it's apparent by the lack of health and ammo. My strategy was to stash all my stuff at the save room near that broken door and only prior to the final confrontation with Lisa that I had to make 3 trips to move all my stuff to the stairs. After the Lisa fight, I had to move all my stuff again to the entrance of the Lab so all in all, you'll need to make 6 trips back and forth.

For some reason, I've grown accustomed to not using my handgun so I didn't picked up much ammo, that might have helped me save inventory space.

Oh, also auto aim is disabled for both game modes. Still though, I think it's nothing a RE vet can't handle.

I've always been intimidated to try those. I honestly don't know why, I can coast the main game very easily.

Hell, I'm always intimidated by the classic REs in general. Beaten Code Veronica on PS2 twice but I don't have the skills to beat it on PS3, I think I should give it another go.

Stash your stuff in that particular Save box and you'll be fine. Kind of.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

To be fair, I would label Code Veronica as the hardest one to do in a single go due to being pretty long and having some tricky sequences, mostly the end game ones. On its own, it is still fairly challenging. I am very comfortable with beating RE2 and RE1 in one go though. The rest of the games, not so much.

I am NOT comfortable in beating CVX in any circumstance, I don't know how I did it when I was younger. I really need to beat this game soon. :lol

I'm still working on my first playthrough :lol. I haven't had the time to play it in a week.

What part of the game are you currently at?

I'm comfortable but not to the extent of the other games. I still need RE3 though, is it still on sale on PSN?

I'm halfway through on Chris, I'm on the Black Tiger. Normal mode and Chris in this game isn't nearly as bad as I thought, dare I say I'm having an easier time than with Jill from the first go, like with the Elder Crimson Head
