I finally saw the fight this weekend. I agree with everything Vader Al wrote above. I just can't respect Mayweather as a legendary champ (which he considers himself) just yet 'cause he doesn't box like a champ. He only shows glimpses of his talent throughout the fight. This is what makes his fights boring; hence, I refuse to buy his PPV fights.
This fight was like all his previous fights. I'm still waiting to see the true champion in Mayweather which I know is hiding somewhere inside him. He has the opportunity to be a great, legendary fighter if he only fought and not ran (aka for Mayweather fan's, a great defense) the majority of the fight.
Perhaps it will happen should he fight Cotto, who is a true Welterweight. Hatton just wasn't the man to make Mayweather shine...but then again, that's why Mayweather fought him.
Well, Nash. As you can see, I was disappointed in Mayweather's performance. I just didn't see the "clinic" I had hoped for that would have convinced me that Mayweather deserves more respect than I have been giving him.
