Hatton got his butt handed to him, let it go and move on people

buy the ref yeah.......oops....by the ref & Hatton's display halfway through the round when he bent over at the ref showed he thought it too

But the best boxer won in the end but it would of been a closer match

I suppose us Brits can now add Hatton to the list of lovable losers that make up the majority of our "top" sports stars and despite losing I expect he'll still be in the running for the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year award along with fellow failures Lewis Hamilton and the Rugby team. No country celebrates the mediocre in sport quite like the UK and it makes me sick. We were once a nation that had the balls to say "**** you" to Hitler, yet now we seem to settle for "Oh well,we tried hard" or "We won a World Cup in 1966".

Well, Joe Calzaghe won the Sports Perfonality of the Year

Mayweather is still an ass. I guess it just aint time to cash those karma chips in yet.

Still think Hatton fought a great fight. I don't know how they figured he only landed 63 punches. :dunno

Sorry but being an ass and a great athlete have nothing to do with each other. You can not like someone because of their persona but that doesnt mean they are going to lose.

And for you Hatton fans who thought he would "pressure pressure pressure" Mayweather with his attacks.... I'd take a counter-fighter over a brawler any day of the week. Any schmuck can go forward and punch with their eyes closed, but it takes precision, speed, and skill to be an effectice counter puncher.

Hatton fought a great fight.....he was on the receiving end of Mayweathers left hooks all night. well done! :D

ah the old "blame it on the ref" routine. I guess the ref distracted Hatton for a second, leaving him wide open to that vicious left to the chin, in which a second later he proceeded to run into the corner post before laying flat on his ass. :rotfl

Let's not forget the simple fact that this fight was not determined by a score card. Your boy got knocked the fuggggg out!!!!!!!!!!

A welcome suprise as I was expecting it to be Lewis Hamilton what with all the hype about him this year. Well done to Calzaghe for not conforming to the usual loser mentality that is so prevalent in British sport.

Yea, he just needs more high profile fights. Would love to see him destroy jermain taylor

Like Hatton, he's bet everyone good in his weight class & will have to step up a weight division

Yea, Kessler was the best in the supper middleweight division and calzaghe clearly defeated him. With 21 title defenses, is there really anybody else in the super middleweight division to challenge him/ I would like to see him move up to light heavyweight eventually, he's would surely be one of top punchers in that division, if not the fastest punchers. A fighter with B-Hop would be great

True. But I would rather be a respected fighter than a turd.

:lecture :lecture :lecture

You mean the good guys don't always win? Tell me GW, is that true? :monkey2

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to see the fight on Saturday but I've had a few people describe it to me. Although, I didn't want Mayweather to win, the best man won...by knockout!

I'll check it out next Saturday on HBO and make up my own mind whether Mayweather's title of the best pound-for-pound fighter is legit or not. Although, this cannot be judged on one fight alone, at the very least, I may gain some respect for his fighting style. Mind you, I respect his boxing ability and there's no doubt that he has talent but I don't respect his style of running away...or what some people call a good defense. I don't mind this type of defense being used within the fight but not for the majority of the fight.

I also agree with Nash that it takes precision, speed, and skill to be an effectice counter puncher. Mayweather has all these skills... but I prefer to watch a skilled fighter go toe-to-toe.

Well, Karma, I believe Kelly Pavlik will probably get his gloves on Jermain Taylor first and destroy him.

Trust me on this Zoom, Mayweather put on a show and a clinic on Saturday. It was a nothing short of a beautiful performance and it really brought back the Mayweather that I know, and not the guy in the past few fights.

People here are talking about the refs, that the fight was bought, and blah blah blah....but to my eyes, Mayweather effectively dismantled Hatton at will and as planned. Just after the first round Hatton's face was already busted a bit from eating countless left hooks.

And like ive said before in here, if the fight went to the score cards at the end, I can understand arguments like these. But Hatton got knocked the fug out in posterrific style.

yeah he planned to get rocked in the 1st

Hatton said that the deduction of the point made him rush his game but admitted Mayweather ain't the strongest but most accurate

My one criticism about Mayweather other than his attitude, which is irrelevant to the sport, is his lack of passion for the sport, he seems desperate to retire & like Larry Merchant asked him "surely a true champ takes on all comers"

that's why when the camera was at his corner after the round, his men where saying "it's ok don't worry about it" obviously he had asked about it

and the crowd know nothing either, as they were all jumping up & cheering

well, the crowd were jumping and cheering before and after the fight, so I doubt they notices. I was going to go, but that's just too much craziness for me
