you guys are assuming all of this just because of 2 words listed on the site . It would make 0 sense for them to do that cause it would hurt their Ex sales. Instead of assuming, just ask a SS rep.
it's not assumption. But do you want to bet your left nut the reg is not open es like vs?
waiting for a response from a CS rep.............
We been through this before, i dont understand why people are still confused. It's very clear.
"Limited Edition: TBD" - With edition size, to be announced later.
"Limited Edition" OR "Limited Edition: Limited Edition" - Open ES make as many for as long as they want.
now we have proof, and now I'm not so sure I will be ordering this at all . It seems like everything is moving towards open ES now. I might just wait to get the EX once they start shipping. It's gonna be awhile before it sells out anyways. I bet it could easily be had for cheaper on the aftermarket. Here's the conversation:
me: Hi, I was wandering if the regular edition of the Dark Rider of Mordor premium format figure will have an edition size or not? People are saying it will have an open edition size like the legendary scale figure line and like the new Galactus maquette. Is this the case or will it have a ES set once the exclusive pre order sells out? Thanks
Just a moment...
Sideshow Christina: Hello.
The Dark Rider of Mordor Premium Format Item #3000841 has an edition size of 500.
me: that's the exclusive edition though, I was asking about the regular edition. Or is it combined, for both of them?
Sideshow Christina: The regular does not have a specified edition set.
As of right now it is an open edition although in the future the production team could decide to set an edition size.
This is a B.S.
Open ES for regular will hurt the value of the EX of course.
Do you think lurtz pf ex would sell over $1k if the regular is still available at regular price? Of course not.
Do you think doom pf ex would sell over $2k if the regular is still available at regular price? Heck No
Sideshow is really killing the meaning of collectibles.
Man this crap makes me love my old true limited statues even more. Optimus prime maquette, you are the best
I'll be really pissed if they make Batman PF regular an open ES.

I'm actually fine with Reg being open and EX being very limited. It give a good collector's item for those who like that but also allows those that come late in the game to get the reg if they really like a piece.
