Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Sideshow isn't obligated to tell people when something is on low quantity.

I have to disagree somewhat. They are when they advertise that they will. They have it plastered all over the place, gives you the sense that "don't worry we will let you know when there is low quantity". If they say they will do something then don't, that is why we can get miffed with them sometimes.

And now I am concerned that they forced me into ordering with the low quantity warning only to have more on the way.

says who? the haters? :dunno

haha, the haters, no. Imo any person or company that is caught red handed lying in many ways loses credibility in my book. Doesn't mean I don't buy from them, but I don't believe anything they say anymore. I haven't ordered anything direct from them since the Predator 1 LSB.

What if there isn't another batch?

The regular is a limited edition there is no set ES. So they do things in batches and anytime a batch sells out I'm sure they mention it. Not sure what isn't trust worthy in that.

I guess I didn't know they advertised that. I mean I know that they generally tell us in newsletters (and sometimes on product pages) when things are low quantity.

I totally agree it's very helpful to customers to know when something is low quantity, I just don't feel it is something they are required to do.

I agree, it is very helpful when it works right and I appriciate them doing it. It just hurts when the system lulls you into a false sense of security and lets one slip by like it did for me with the EX.

I had it in my cart a weeks prior to it selling out and was not rushed as I knew I had that buffer(or at least thought I did). Granted they can't be perfect due to the newsletter delay, but that is why I liked when they did the stock bar right on the page. There was no shock at the end and it was your own fault if it sold out as the numbers were staring you in the face. They still do a similar page warning on some items, not sure why not all.

I personally spoke with SS. They said that there is no more being produced after this lot. I confirmed it twice with them. There will be no more.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

You just have to prioritise really. I mean there's no real difference between getting it today or getting it tomorrow when it says "low item warning". You can either afford it or you can't.

If I want something I just buy it or flex it but I don't really get upset if I miss out. That's my fault. Like for example the Hulk Maq, I might get it eventually but if it sells out I won't be that fussed about it. It's not a major must for me.

Guy's waiting on Sauron will end up in the same boat a month after he's been released too.

Are you talking about the EX or the regular one? There was no low item warning for the EX until days AFTER it was already sold out. I went on the WL a couple hours after it went to WL a month ago and I have not gotten one. Being able to afford it has nothing to do with it.

Besides, I can't, but I am getting it anyway...:rotfl

I hope that is accurate, but who knows. Did you record the conversation so we can play it back and laugh when it comes back into stock in a month?:panic:

It's VERY rare for any EX not to sell out, even crappy fringe characters sell out.

Especially considering how good this turned out. You're better off buying it then returning it if you don't like it IMO. Rather than wait and miss out.

That is my point. I knew it would sell out, I was just thinking how I wanted to pay, all or flex. In the few days it took me to decide there was no low stock warning so I thought I had time. I know it was my own fault, but had there been no low stock warning to fall back on I would not have waited so long is what I am saying. The very fact that there was supposed to be a warning kept me from acting as fast. Does that make sense?

But there were only 500 made and it had been up for pre-order nearly a year!!!!! What do you expect??? Why do you need a warning? Why did it take a few days to decide whether you wanted to pay full or flex?? I'm not intending to be rude here, but if you ask me waiting = tempting fate.

It's not SS's responsibility to keep you posted 24/7 so you can suddenly decide at the very last minute...,the thing had an ES of 500...that is very low considering the grail-potential of this piece. That on it's own should be warning enough to order as soon as you can.

What guitar man said. :wink1:

Who knows, there could have been only 50 or so left when the pics hit. It wouldn't take them long to sell that at all. It was up for about a month after release. So many people in the thread posted "I'm getting this now" after most of us put picks up.

The signs were there dude. Ultimately SS don't care if you get one, only that they get sold. It sucks but thats the way it goes.

I guess I will give up trying to make you understand. If a company says they will do something and then does not do it, how is that not grounds for getting at least a bit upset? How you so easilly give them a pass for not doing what they say they will like it it normal is beyond me. I guess I just expect too much.

Its not sideshow's fault

Its not sideshow's fault

It is no ones fault. I just said they could do a better job with the warnings or bring back the stock meter like they had years ago to prevent this kind of thing. Would you rather just guess or would you like to KNOW. Myself I like to know, and I don't understand what is so wrong about that.

I do understand what you are saying. It comes down to a false sense of security. You look at the page and see no low stock warning, so you think you have more time than you maybe really do.

But, honestly, I think that for them to put out these low stock warnings on their items is a manual process. I truly don't think whatever internal system they use communicates that well with their website.
