Here's a featurette on the film, you really have to appreciate the work Andy Serkis does.

If this is as good as i think it will be then this will easily be my film of the year, cant wait.

Great featurette... With every new image that I see (the trailer looked great before Cowboys and Aliens) this movie just keeps looking better and better-- I certainly hope that this spawns a whole new series of films.

I would love to see a new series of Apes movies. :yess: :D

I am telling ya, Andy Serkis is to mo capture performance what Ray Harryhausen was to claymation. Different contribution to special fx, but both will be long remembered

Cannot wait for this one. Trailer kinda blew me away

I noticed they used the avatar mo cap style with this, given the cameras capturing the face up close.......day one for sure

I do agree that this is not my primary idea of what "Planet of the Apes" should be...I still find it fun to see the wannabe inturpretations of the classics.

I like the Marky Mark version too, though.

I'll probably check this out anyway. This is not the segment of the Apes story that is most intriguing to me. But that just means that there's room to surprise me.

I was surprised to see this tracking in the mid-80s at RT...I thought for sure critics would savage this...
...not that that's a true indicator of what a movie is...heck,"Cowboys & Aliens" is taking a drubbing there, and I liked that.

I remember seeing the original films over and over again when I was a kid at matinees...Roddy McDowell was king!

I'm looking forward to this...yes, it looks like a totally different approach from the old films, but as the last few years have shown, occasionally one of these "reboots" can end up being pretty good...Casino Royale springs to mind...and that "X-Men" re-take earlier this summer was pretty spiffy...

If anything, it'll be cool to see Serkis working his particular brand of magic again...here's hoping the movie's a good one...

I really enjoyed this film. Certainly more than that Mark Wahlberg movie.

The CGI is brilliant too; the apes look pretty f__king real to me...

I am trying so hard to get excited about this movie. It's just not a Planet of the Apes movie without talking apes.

I don't think we have enough apes in zoos to take over the world. Apes being pets, butlers, maids whatever in the original Conquest made the Ape takeover more believable.

:lol I was thinking the same thing. How in the hell are 300 apes going to take over the planet?:dunno

Omgbbq. Dude, have you not seen the comercials omg.

Omg "NATURE MADE THEM STRONGER. NATURE MADE THEM FASTER. NOW WE MADE THEM SMARTER." :horror

Did you not see that one part where like, there's all those armored police guys with shields and guns. And there's a bunch of monkeys with pointy sticks. And they throw the pointy sticks. And the police guys die.
Who would have thought to use pointy sticks?
Incredible

one would have expected a more imaginative crowd considering this is an "adult" doll forum. i suppose this is a good indication of those who do and do not take the figures out of the box.

That's why you call the sponge monkey's...

Yep reviews are good, they are saying it's solid for what it is. The CGI and performance of Ceasar, by Andy Serkis, is amazing. One of the bettter, if not the best action popcorn flick of the summer.
I am going to see this to erase TF3 and Green Lantern from my memory once and for all :)

I am assuming I will like/love this movie.
My other picks for the summer have been:
X-men First Class
Thor
Capt America
Harry Potter

I think that's about it for me. Unless I'm forgetting some.
