i'm just being more selective on what i buy yeah the prices are going up but the pieces are better in quality.

Yea, that and interests change/shelf room.

Mine has changed for Star Wars. Only main characters for me, unless they look very very good.

you know what i hate,

I s when someone(other collectors in your family) hates on you because you have or bought something they want and can't afford. so they start talking ^^^^ about this and that, why you buy that? you don't even collect that? oh and my favorite, why are you copying me?

i'm like this aint no rules in collecting everyone collects what they want and can afford. why should i limit my collection just because your sorry ass can't buy it. cry me a f-unken river.........

I started off buying DC Direct... I liked a lot of their pieces, but when I got them, I was a little more than underwhelmed - crappy paintjobs, cut corners on the sculpting. I realized I was paying top dollar for something that wouldn't gain much value on eBay - and in many instances, they've DEvalued.

I'm willing to pay a higher price for the quality Sideshow presents in its goods. In my opinion, some of the statues I've gotten from Sideshow are STEALS!

It's all a matter of what value YOU put on the object. If Sideshow sells a statue for $300 and you're hemming and hawing, chances are you don't really want it, and you definitely don't need it. I might see the same statue and lay down $600 just to own TWO of 'em because I like it so much. Sideshow's gotta make money and with oil prices increasing, I can see prices of their goods increasing just in order to GET the products to the customer.

Prices can only go up from here.

What sucks about that IMO is that selling these 2 items won't get you much at all. Both figures are very good quality and if released today by SSC would be prolly $65-$70 each.

At most you'll probably get $40 each. Its not feasible to sell at such a loss IMO. I'm just avoiding these types going forward...such as Aalya.

Sideshow's gotta make money and with oil prices increasing, I can see prices of their goods increasing just in order to GET the products to the customer.

I passed on Plo, but I am keeping my Kit. He is the coolest alien Sideshow has released so far.

I guess its true. I have some space spent on less than favorites too, though there is always something better coming along and "renting" figures only to sell and get the more recent seems like a losing battle to me. The winner ends up being the person with the most patience and ofcourse UPS who benefits everytime we sell or buy something.
