:rotfl, sorry, this made me laugh...
I guess for some people DK is an "intelectual" movie a la Alien...
when it's just a Superhero movie, as the latter is just a monster movie..

Any moron can watch Iron Man & get it, DK is just a tad more involved....I didn't say it was intellectual, how many sucky US movies are these days?

The only difference I really see between TDK and IM is that IM was a lighter film where TDK was much darker. I really don't see how TDK requires thought either. Well maybe the ending part that has me a little lost... :lol

TDK Had a brilliant ending. Batman took the blame from Harvey Dent's murderers so Harvey Dent would die a hero and remain uncorrupted in the eyes of the people. The Jokers plan was to cause anarchy and turn people against each other and he tried to use Dent as the ultimate example of a corrupted man. The Joker did achieve a partial victory by making Batman public enemy no. 1. But Batman had to take the blame and become the Dark Knight as this was damage limitation

RDJ is definitely being sarcastic.

What's not to get? Nolan's non-Batman films (MEMENTO, THE PRESTIGE, etc) are much deeper.

I think he was just being sarcastic. Probably his sense of humor
I thought the ending of TDK was well written.

I think "flip" is the word to describe the response. Could be coming from a place of being dethroned as the big prick superhero of the year but mostly I see it as a sales pitch to see Tropic Thunder.

No. Not at all. I dare you to find a monster movie as smart as Alien.

I liked both. I take that back, liked Iron Man a lot and loved Dark Knight, but I admit I'm biased towards DC. Both are great movies. The difference I see in the two are when people talk about Iron Man they generally say"It was cool! Can't wait for the Blu Ray!". As opposed to the Dark Knight which actually inspired people to talk of their views about what happened and choices made by characters.
As for the TDK's ending, if people found out Harvey Dent killed and turned corrupt, all the criminals he, Gordon and Batman put away would be released from prison, as stated earlier by the Mayor in a bit of forshadowing events and choices made later. The Jokers still alive so they couldn't pin murders on him. He's smart and would also use that against them. Batman made the choice he had to to preserve Dents' image so the Joker wouldn't win his game and the hundreds of people taken down in the first 3rd of the movie wouldn't get released.

I enjoy'ed both movies, also i think downey is joking around. haha. Also you have to think about it Iron man has 1 movie!.. and batman has had 7(i think!) the media is expose to batman and more bais towards DK.

heck people didnt know who iron man was before the movie!... now all the sudden iron man is cool.

I also like both venues DC and Marvel.. but come on whats DC's next movie aqua man? hawk girl?....(no it will probly be batman)

You're absolutely right. That's where DC is limited. Like I said, I'm biased towards DC in the same way I'm biased towards Star Wars versus Lord of the Rings. Love both, but grew up with DC and SW. As far as DC goes, Supermax sounds promising which stars Green Arrow. But I seriously doubt The Flash or Wonder Woman could do a stand alone movie. Green Lantern maybe if they play up the Sci Fi elements and treat the movie as such.
