I still haven't seen Iron Man.

He's an actor, they don't have to be that smart, although I thought RDj was smarter than that. He said he loved and understood The Prestige - which is more than I think even Chris Nolan can say. That movie was kind of a mess, especially compared to TDK.

Anyway - he's self aware enough to figure out that he's not smart enough to figure it out. At least he doesn't say "it's crap" just because he can't understand it.

This is all because Robert Downey Jr. wishes he had been cast in such a Masterpiece.:D

The Dark Knight is hardly a masterpiece. It's overrated. I said that the first night when it opened and I'll say it again. It's overrated. A bad film, hardly. I hope I don't get crucified for viewing my opinion. :)

I have to agree as well. I am more of a Marvel fan, but that doesn't take away from the fact DC has a lot of great characters.

Batman is and will forever be the coolest superhero IMO. So while DC may not have the plethora of kick-ass characters that Marvel has, they have the best one in both of the publication's lineups in this Freak's opinion.... na na na na na BATMAN!

marvel consistently had better characters but the few good dc characters became legendary.........sense making that does??

Robert Downey has the bAlls to say it..the DK is a very pretentious movie IMO...Its saving grace was Ledger's amazing performance ..everything else is crap.
I really have to agree with Downey Jr. and the above statement. I was not at all impressed with Dark Knight (with the exception of Ledger), it felt like Begins 1.5 and didn't show me anything new.

As I said before, Iron Man was a classic right outta the box, Dark Knight was nothing more to me than Begins with a little more flash, but not anything I hadn't seen before.

RDJ's comment seems more like he's 'taking the piss', as it were. Sounds more like self-deprecation than a slam against TDK. And he probably said all that in about 2.4 seconds...

He smoked crack and shot heroin because he was an addict, I would assume... didn't all that start ironically back in his "Less Than Zero" days?
Oh, well, I'm just glad it didn't kill him, given that I think he's brilliant.

I can count on about two fingers the number of actors who've done time and went on to actually amount to something afterwards... :monkey3 For my money, he's entitled to any opinion he feels like having...
