I have to agree with RDJ.
I left the cinema feeling a bit sorry that I wouldn't see Ledger act again, his performance was chilling.
But the movie itself... that is another story... Overrated is an understatement...
I'm glad someone came up with the balls to say it out loud, Hollywood people have been so careful when expressing opinions about this movie cause of Ledgers death, they don't want any negative publicity.

I love how it's cool to bash TDK now. Ahhh, something becomes mega popular so the only cool thing to do is to be a total individual and start saying it's "overrated". All the while wearing their hats crooked and their girlfriends pants!

Happened with Lord of the Rings too. People loved Fellowship right away then when it became this huge success it's suddenly "overrated" and these same people loved it two weeks ago!!!!

I really don't mean to come off as a prick, it just seems to me this happens over and over again. Opinions are opinions I guess, I just can't see saying Ledger is the only good part of this film. Did you see the same movie we saw? Harvey Dents story? Jim Gordons? The interrogation scene? The truck chase?

I'm not even a Marvel guy and I can at least admit I like Iron Man and liked the Incredible Hulk even more. I still don't get why that movie didn't do better.

Yep, I saw it all. Even went back and saw it a second time (but only because someone else wanted to see it, and asked me to go with them). It is a good movie, but nowhere near the quasi-religious experience too many fanboys make it out to be. Every plot twist was telegraphed long before it happened. And there were so many plot holes and sequences that defied not only logic, but the very laws of physics, that I lost count. Yet it is still considered "realistic" by some people.

Sorry, but I liked Iron Man (which I also saw twice in the theater) much more than TDK.

Arron Eckhart (spelling?) was amazing as Harvey Dent . . just as perfect as Heath turned out to be as the Joker . . . if the villians were in 2 different movies he would have gotten more praise . . . I also think Gary Oldman is perfect as Gordon.

I also really liked the new Hulk movie . . it really delivered everything I wanted a Hulk movie to be . . .

This year for me has been GREAT entertainment. So really, we all win. We fanboys love to fight about what we're passionate about. I guess it just gets on my nerves when something gets to that point of popularity when people feel the need to knock it down. Seems people can't just enjoy something anymore.

I hate that I missed Hulk. I'm not a big Hulk fan, but it looked pretty entertaining.

The Incredible Hulk was surprisingly entertaining for me. I admit that I went in with lowered expectations, but they pulled off a really good movie that doesn't really reboot the franchise, but isn't a sequel to the previous movie either.

The Hulk was fun for me. Edward Norton nailed Bruce Banner and the storytelling was surprisingly good. I went in with low expectations also, but more for the fact that it's from the same director as the Transporter, so I was expecting big, ugly, and most importantly stupid action scenes sprinkled with a few lines of dialogue. The action was great fun. The character development I thought was surprisingly good and it was a nice mix between the two.
Overall, I guess it just satisfied me more than Iron Man.

Yeah it did. The opening credits gave an entirly NEW origin. It has nothing to do with Ang Lee's Hulk. The only simluarites are the fact that he ends up in South America.

This is true. The opening credits completely negates the first film effectively and quickly. No more Army Bases, No more West Coast, No more Daddy Absorbing Man, all gone. I loved The Incredible Hulk, I still think it doesn't get the credit it deserves but I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed it more than Iron Man. If this film had come out instead of Ang Lee's Hulk there'd been two sequels already in the bank by now.

Do you think I somehow missed that? My point was that no story time was devoted to showing how Banner became the Hulk, so the movie isn't another origin story. Not the way Batman Begins started back at square one.

I see what you are saying that the film didn't focus like BB or Spider-Man etc. But the director said the film was an origin in the same vein as other films but they thought fans were so knowledgable about The Hulk that they could simply handle that in the first five and have the audience still be able to move forward.
