Robert Rodriguez's PREDATORS Movie Thread - SPOILERS

Why are people hating on the new super predator look for ? When I first saw the pic I was like "OMFG" that looks freaking devilish. He looks like a predator but doesnt at the same time...that right there works good. It was the same thing with the Joker in Dark Knight. He doesnt look like the comic, jack nickelson or the cartoon joker that I know, yet he still is the joker to the people who know what character hes meant to portray. We all know that the super predator is a predator. Its not like in the film Rodriguez says hes actually not a predator and hes an alien species from another planet....if that was the case none of you lot would be complaining. All hes missing is the "crown" and his face looks burnt off or something...chill out !!!! Personally I love the old predator designs and they have faithfully translated them on the new film but hell I don't want to sit there and be bored by the same looking predators for the whole length of the film. You'll blast Rodriguez for not adding variety to the species and you'll blast him for adding variety....consider yourself lucky that they've got it right so far. Or do you want W. S. Anderson or the Strause Bros to get a hold of it again !????? Yeah didn't think so.

I think something being lost on a lot of people that are happy with the design is that people unhappy with it, for the most part, aren't saying, "that's not a Predator", they're saying "that design looks horrible". It's not the deviation from standard Predator design that's in question, it's just that a lot of us feel it just looks bad, period,

People have every right to hate the new design. It's so incredibly drastic that they knew not everyone would like it.

Sure they have a right but seriously its like what I said before. Do you really wanna see the same looking predators throughout the whole film ? If you were in charge what differences would you make that can clearly be seen in the film?....And i don't mean ones got a spear and disc and the others just got a shoulder canon. People dont sit at home with their dvd copy and rewind back and slow mo to see the differences. They need to change some things in the movie so its different...hes adding to the culture and history of the predators as well.....its not like everyone reads the comics where they show different predator species.

Thats why a few pages down this thread someone photoshopped the crown back on and made the eyes frown more. It looked exactly like the P1 Predator. Everyone on the thread said thats how it should look like. People don't want to see change. They took what was different and made it look familiar/same. I don't think its the design. I think people don't like change.

I dont think you clearly understand the point here. Noone is against the change, a lot of people just dont like the overall looks of the new revealed predator's face. And Im one of them.
The crown was photoshopped back on to see what the new face would look like with it.
I actually like the masks though. Well, 2 of them atleast.

Look all am saying is give the super pred design a chance man. You lot try to come up with something that everyone fan agrees on...it aint gonna happen. It would be so funny if the predators were real and we found out that the predators we knew were only from a certian clan and the other clans looked different from each other....would you then go up to the predators and say "hold on a minute....who told you, you could look different ?"

Edit: Okay so whats wrong with the design....and don't say it doesnt look anything like the other predators.

Look at it this way. There are many butt-fugly people in this world. Why dont most of them make it into a movie? Because they are not meant to do a movie. Same thing with predators.
People have different tastes. Accept it. The above is my opinion and its not stopping you to love the new design.

Didnt understand the first half of that but I just hate fanboys...not saying you are one but one little thing u change and they have a hissy fit like their dad invented the idea of the Predator and have all legal rights to the design. You change the whole design and people go ape ____ saying it should look this way and so fourth...thats why I decided to just express my views...

Thats like saying proove to me a poodle is a dog because a poodle doesnt look like a german shepard cause when I see one of those then I think of a dog. It comes from a family of other dogs. If you google dog then does it come up with one definative dog or a multiple breed of dogs ?

It'll just disrupt the love fest currently going on in here by sparking another dozen or so pointless posts about evolution explaining how the Stan Winston designed Predators magically changed into something typically seen helping out Lord Zedd to try to take over the world before the Power Rangers eventually show up and Kung-Fu kick all their ***** into retreat.

The fact that you "didnt understand the first part" makes me question if there's even a point discussing this thing with you. Reading the second half of your post made me question it even more.
Plus the stuff at predatorstuff.com is not movie costumes is it?
