you guys who are whining about brody do realize that a 12 year old robinson crusoe would have beaten P1 Pred the same way muscled Dutch would have right? Maybe taken a far bigger beating during the fall into the water or broken a few more bones during the 'fight' scene, but Dutch would never in a million years have a chance of physically beating the Predator. He used his reserve and cunning, i.e. a mix of fearlessness and makeshift traps to beat him. In hand-to-hand combat he failed miserably.

If Brody's character is intelligent and brave, that should be enough. Doesn't matter if he's thin as a stick as long as he can outsmart the Predator. You guys didn't really expect some uber human to try and duke it out with a Predator did you? I guess a muscled guy looks better shooting a machine gun but on principle none of that is necessary to pose an adversary to these creatures and is just an aesthetic that is just more suiting. In the end it doesn't matter how buff you are or how well you shoot a gun, it matters if you can sense that the Predator is already behind you with his gauntlet blades drawn and were planning for it the whole time.

I was just watching p1 the other day and I really hope predators turns out to be another classic film. That may be a long shot but I'm crossing me fingers.

Some of the dialog in p1 is so cheesy but it's still such an awesome movie.

I have to admit, this is the first time I've been underwhelmed by new Predator designs. Is it just me, or did anyone else think Narin when confronted with the minimal armour and lack of body netting?

Anyway, the Preds look a bit chubby and undergunned compared to their predecessors (even P1!). I presume the lack of netting is because they're on their home ground, and it's quite possible that they will use a lot more carried weapons which are just not in the pics. Otherwise Hot Toys will no doubt be cursing the lack of accessory options.

The human characters, though, look like a good mix. Most of the professional soldiers I've met are very lean and fit rather than muscle-pumped.

Here's just hoping that the Predators get to show some character rather than becoming pure monsters. The plot sounds worryingly close to the utterly dire Forever Midnight for comfort....

I liked both AvP and AvP:R...so
