Robert Rodriguez's PREDATORS Movie Thread - SPOILERS

I'll wait until I see it before I judge the movie. As far as the Predators shown so far? They look ok to me so far. The one standing next to that arch looks pretty cool. I can't really tell if I like the rest yet. The pics just aren't good enough.
What I find funny is that people are complaining that they don't look just like the original Predator or P2. The Predators are a race of beings, like humans. Of course they aren't all going to look alike. You'll like the looks of some and some not at all. If they all looked alike and had the same shape, it would be kind of bland.IMO

oh good, more fellow AVP fans coming forward I enjoyed both as well. I was kinda disappointed after watching the first AvP at the midnight show, but I kind of enjoy watching it now. I wasn't really into forums and all that stuff back then to so I didn't have any expectations watching it. I agree AvP:R > AvP, but the delivery pizza kid might be the most annoying character in the whole franchise and let's not even get started on the lighting, other than that, it was a very good popcorn flick from what I could make out

They weren't oscar winning cinema but for what they were I enjoyed them. If you went in expecting more then seeing aliens versus predators with some humans thrown in for minor dialogue I really don't know what to tell you.

AvP IS the better movie. Better action. Better characters. Better plot. Respects the franchises MORE the R did. Sure, maybe the Aliens were too powerful...but still. There was equal kills among them.

AVP:R was an unnecessary bloodfest. Throughout the film it was predator chasing the aliens and humans in the middle of it. Sometimes the alien would stop being chased so it could chase humans...my god its like one of them scooby doo chase sequences lol. The good thing about predator and aliens as films on there own was the tension and build up in the story. There is little of that in AVP 1 and none in AVP:R. Lets hope Rodriguez doesn't make this out like a scooby doo chase throughout the film. It seems as though its not cause of the shooting locations but you never know. Please just take it back to the old school predator...no beefy suits. I want my predator thin and built like a warrior hence being called a predator and not a freaking fat slaughter machine !!!

Update:

I just read the wiki on the new film. This now seems like a remake of Predator 1. Check the characters out:

Mahershalalhashbaz Ali portrays a man not afraid to die = Billy Sole's character

Walton Goggins presents a loose cannon of the group = Mac Eliot's character (example, when hes got the gattling gun and goes crazy)

Danny Trejo plays a hardened warrior with twin uzis = Blain Cooper aka Jesse Ventura's character. Okay not exactly like Jesse's character but its close enough.

Alice Braga plays a tough female killer = Anna, the guerrilla fighter.

And I guess Arnie's character is Adrien Brody as hes the leader this film.

What a shame, some people are saying that dont moan and _____ cause the film isnt even released but my god why do you have to have the same type of characters !!!??? Be original ffs !!!

The characters are NOTHING like Predator's characters. I've read the script. The only character that's just like Dutch, is Dutch himself....and he was thankfully cut out.
