I am somewhat interested after the trailer. Michael Keaton's character is to blame for making the suit all black.
Oh so it's Michael Keaton who wanted it black. Thanks a lot Keaton!

Michael Keaton.... what a ********* lol :monkey4 :cuckoo: :gah::gah:

Looks at least worthy of a rental. Why isn't his face burned though?

yeah, Good question..........At least part of his face should have been burned...

Looks ten times better than what I expected however that suit is a major boner killer. Had they kept the design they're using but gave it the color scheme of the original it would have been amazing.

What's with every suit needing to be completely black and bland?

Heck the first suit he wears is better than the power ranger black one.

yeah I don't know what the F___ these people were thinking. I don't understand why make the same suit that has been made in like 3 movies already. (GI Joe for example)

What was so bad about the silver suit? what was the problem?

Did they do it because they wanted Robocop to be completely different than the original? then why the Hell remake it then?
I guess they probably thought they needed to set this movie apart from the others and the change in color was their way to make this Robocop it's own thing.
but by doing so he looks too generic, Specially now that other movies have done suits like that....:gah:

I love how even in the trailer they include the 'make it black, more utilitarian' line. It's like they're are apologising for this PoS before it even comes out.

I didn't see it like an apology. I saw it more like they were saying

"Yeah, that's right, we made the suit black. Eat it nerds :nana::nana:"

Since he makes it sound like it will be more "slick" more "Cool" more "hip"
More smooth, not like that ugly old clunky and outdated Silver design... I mean, at least if felt that way when Keaton says it.

Does he join the Arashikage clan before he goes to Tron in this one?

I'm surprised some people like the look of this , I'm a huge Robocop fan and was keeping an open mind for this but it looks terrible to me. :monkey4

One of my favorite aspects about the original movie is that they declare him dead, and try to remove any trace of his past self. This leads to the tragedy that is so enthralling when he discovers the loss of everything he has been through, and the great end when he finds that he still is human. The last line in the movie, when the old man asks his name, and he says Murphy; that has you cheering.

But no! F that, we are going to tell everyone what we are doing, and have him a fully aware person that is controlled by a computer. A computer that is, shock to everyone, overridden somehow. Bullcrap! Not even close to the same movie.

Always was one of my favorite lines!!

Well I think it's a good thing that this is doing something new. I like how they want to make him think that he is in control, that he has free will.
I don't want it to be like the old film, I want to see a new take on the character. I'm hoping that you can watch the old and the new back to back, rather than just watch another rehash like Total Recall

Definitely the worst remake in recent memory.

yes but why change everything that was special about the first ones?
Why make a remake at all?
why not make it an original movie and do whatever the F__ they want?

oh yeah, because people won't pay for some random Sci Fi movie about a guy in a suit,
they need name recognition so they do their own movie and just put the Robocop title so that people will pay for it.

But, really, why remake something if they are not even going to make an effort?

Watching it again it just looks dull and unmemorable to me.
Funnily enough it reminds me of the Total Recall remake a lot in terms of the tone and the way they've gone about remaking the world of Robocop , I get the impression this will be a film I'll watch and have forgotten about the next day. I really hope I'm wrong though.

The only way I would accept this is if they made it a true sequel to the first series and set this far down the line in the Robocop program. That way you could introduce some new fancy elements without coming off as a soulless remake. Nothing will trump the first movie in terms of establishing the technology and the character of Murphy as played by Weller.

The lens-flare gave me a migraine in Total Recall. Every friggin scene had it.

That's a hellva idea, that could of left them as much room as possible with creative direction.
