Implying Freddy was easy to get "right" with so many people having one single archetypical Freddy in mind which only one guy got "right", the character practically belongs to Englund.

But like I said, I haven't seen it, I've only seen like 5% of it but it's not of my interest.

So again, if anyone can top it, it's him, Boddicker wasn't a more complex character than Freddy was back then and certainly not more complex than Rorschach.

^that's not too bad. I imagined most of you guys were like this the entire time anyway

Funny, because that's exactly how I see you guys over the fact that we don't like it. "LEAVE THE REMAKE ALONE!" :nana:

To be fair, any movie where a cop get rebuilt as a cyborg would've been called a Robocop knockoff anyway so why not?:lol

I Robot had a cyborg cop and I don't recall a single person calling that a RoboCop knockoff. :huh

Interested to see who haley is playing, His Kruger wasnt the fault in the Nightmare Reboot, lack of a creative imagination, story and visual aspects. Every project needs a good director, this new guy directing the new Robo seems to have a grasp for the material.

This looks like a generic, run of the mill 2000s-era Sci-Fi film with the RoboCop name on it. I'm still being open-minded about this to be fair, but between the trailer not doing much for me and this being PG-13 (which was the death knell for this series to begin with with the third movie), expectations are pretty damn low.

JEH is playing a weapons specialist of some sort. I recall reading he'll be there essentially to arm and instruct Murphy on how to use his new firepower.

So that means we won't get a Boddicker type villain? D:

What I'm worried about, after seeing some bits of the trailer, is that we get a Robocop fighting hordes of robots instead of just good ol' criminal scum and one single ED209.

I've watched the trailer a couple of times now.

I knew it reminded me of something and one of the suggested videos was the Dredd trailer. The trailer is structured just like Dredd, almost exactly. Gritty CGI city with a tower, crime and corruption, rioting and drones, then it builds up to the guy that can stomp all this out.

Back in 2012, I kinda had the same feelings with Dredd that I have with this now. "Eh, looks like Total Recall remake. Soul less, CGI, sci-fi modern crap", you know what I'm talking about. That 3D stuff didn't help either. You know what though? I ended up LOVING Dredd. That was one of my favorites, if not my favorite summer film of 2012 other than the Avengers.

I'm going to give this a chance. Trailers are hardly anything to go by. True, the Dredd being a remake of the Stallone flick is not even a comparison to this and the original Robocop. The original is a classic and one of my favorite films. But to just write this off completely and be like "RENTAL" or "NETFLIX" seems like a poor judgement call. It's "Robocop" and has a stellar cast. The trailer is practically a scene to scene rip of the Dredd trailers. I must see this. If it's bad, oh well, but what if it's good?

murphy losing his **** after being shown his roboparts was LAME.

but dont be disappointed, it comes with an auto-tune app and robo breaks out with a katy perry song.

After viewing the trailer, it looks much better than I thought it would. I'll definitely be giving this one a chance after all. :wave
