Oh Christ!

I forgot about my preordered Robocop and ED-209! :monkey4

I thought, now that I've cancelled my 12" Star Wars figs, that's me clear for a while... :monkey2

I've got my SDCC Freddy, Anakin and Subject 5 coming soon as well!

I think I'm going to cancel my T800 but keep my T1000.

Then I'm going to sell my original Anakin and Luke exclusives.

You can always cancel Robocop and pre-order the Robocop 3 version. Pictures from Comic Con indicate that it is the exact same figure (color and all) but with the extra arm. That may allow you to not sell your Luke Exclusive (unless of course you really want to).

Just a thought. :)

Is it really the same color? It seems from the pictures on Sideshow's site that the metallic color is bluer on the Robocop 1 and more metallic on the Robocop 3 figure. I'd guess to most people they wouldn't care. It certainly makes sense to me to get the Robo 3 figure for maximum accessories.

That's what I originally though too until I saw this:

It looks the same as the soon-shipping Robocop to me.

Yeah, that certainly looks like the Robo 1 color scheme. I wonder if it's simply the Robo 1 model with the Robo 3 hand attachment because Hot Toys couldn't or didn't send the actual Robo 3 sample in time for SDCC. The other photos of the Robocop items on Sideshow's site seem to come from Hot Toys directly so maybe the actual Robo 3 release is the more metallic scheme.

Y'know that's a good point. I hadn't considered that possibility. That would explain the differences between that pic and the one on SSC's order page (the one where the mouth looks like it's been sculpted differently).

This could be interesting. Has anything been released about the head sculpt beneath the helmut?

For Aussies - Rod as Oziegoods has the Robocop in stock and shipping now. Still no date on the ED-209. Shipping on the Robocop is $A15 to Brisbane to give you an idea.

i'd really like to know about his face under the helmet too. can u even take the helmet off? and if so, does it resemble Weller?

is there another 12" fig that has Weller's face under the helmet? seems i recall seeing one but it may've been a model kit

Around the time of Toy Fair or a little while afterward, there was a pic of the HT Robo without the helmet on. However, that seems to have been a generic face sculpt designed simply for the sake of completeness. The helmet on the HT Robocop is NOT removable.

Basically, Weller hasn't approved the use of his likeness, so the chances of seeing a removable helmet Robo is extremely slim to none.

well that sucks! i figured it wouldn't look like Weller, but was hoping for at least a generic face under a removable helmet. thanks for the info

You're welcome.

I do want to note though that I can't personally confirm all that because mine hasn't arrived yet. My info came from a Robocop fan forum. I just want to get that out there in case it ends up not being entirely accurate.

That being said...to elaborate a bit more on what I read there a while back, the helmet is "permanently" attached...meaning there's a chance you could pry it off.

I'll look around and see if there's any updated info on this issue. Truth be told, I'm rather curious myself, seeing as I'll hopefully have mine from Corner Store Comics in two weeks or so. :D

Brief follow-up...

Found this on www.robocoparchive.com:

jut opened the box up to get a better look as its lunchtime, and all i have to say is if you like robocop you need this thing.

inspite of all the critisism you people have given it from the pics we've seen. When you see this thing for real you'll love it, the finish on the paint is amazing it looks so real, and the rubber sections bend and move like the real thing, its just astounding, the helmet is glued on but you can see his face if you peek up. the leg holster is interconnected so when you open it the bit that holds the gun automatically pulls out.

I do like the idea that the holster has been constructed in a way where everything is in one single motion. That must be what Brant was talking about months ago when he called it an engineering marvel!!

I can't wait!! :)

2 pack huh? so it'll have the battle damaged one in the pic from the fight inside OCP and the ED blown apart outside OCP. lol, that'll just be legs won't it?

and it seems he does have a face if we can pry off the helmet. wonder if it's a stretched "skin mask" type face.

Yeah, it'll just be the legs. The price, though, is somewhere around $240-250, so I'd say it's a fair price. You're essentially buying one and a half EDs, so actually it's a bargain!!! :lol :lol

that's true but it woulda been cool if they'd made one of the EDs non battle damaged w/ parts u could switch out for battle damaged parts. as it is u'd need to buy the normal version and the 2 pack to get the whole range of EDs lol. that's like $650.00 for some EDs dammit:monkey5

Looks like the legs might come with a Robocop

I think people are just funning around. Those are the small gashapon figures that were recently released.

I posted the pics of the original Robocop, with the helmut removed, somewhere else. Here they are again. Apparently, the helmut is glued on, but can be pried off easily. Just one dab of glue holds it on. I wouldn't mind seeing if the new one is the same head sculpt. It doesn't have the mechanics hanging out of his head, like it should, rather a plain black sculpt.
