Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

depends where you're at in life. I would have eaten that at times. :lol

I saw AOTC twice in one day. And that was after my first viewing.

My favorite thing about seeing AOTC is that a friend of mine - who has gone on to become a successful screenwriter - walked up to me after the midnight show (I didn't even know we were at the same show) and said, "I wish that I could just wish my wishes away" and then he walked off into the ether.

I'm guilty of seeing it twice in the theater, I guess how bad it was took time to sink in.

Can't say there was anything profound attached to the experience though.

It's the weakest. But I still can't muster any hate for the prequels, and outright laugh at the histrionic outrage of that certain, special segment of fans. I won't fall on my sword for them but I had a great experience anticipating and watching all of the prequels even if retrospective viewings have been less kind. Sometimes I'm glad to be less analytically-minded than some of my geek brethren.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy seeing the prequels in the theater, at least for one viewing. I think the general excitement of seeing a new Star Wars movie is often enough to overcome whatever negative qualities the films may have. Time has not been kind in my perception of the prequels, but even so every now and then I'll still pop one in to watch. I have only watched AOTC twice since it was released on video, one time when I first bought it, and one time so my daughter could see it, as she loves Star Wars.

AOTC is the only one of the prequels that I struggle to find anything good to say about.

I enjoyed some of the action scenes in AOTC and the Republic gunship is a vehicle design I loved, made a damn great toy. As did the AT-TE for that matter - the last prequel vehicle I bought before I packed in PT toy collecting (on account of hating the prequels overall :lol )

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I don't think I will ever watch the prequels again........I mean ....why?
MAAAAAAYBE ROTS

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I put the prequels on as background noise but I admit the last time I tried to really watch AOTC I didn't make it to the end.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

IMO each chronological episode improves on the previous one, until we peak at Empire, and Jedi then dips below ANH. My ratings form a kind of bell curve from I-VII.

Still love ROTS.

Are they three minutes long each?

:monkey3

But in all seriousness, what sort of stuff do they cut? :)

Deletes a lot of the cringe worthy scenes and adds some of the deleted that made more narrative sense. I'd go into examples but I aint got time for dat.
